TDP blames Govt for 17 hooch deaths

-Jagan gave false election kisses to women: Anitha
-CM betrayed his sisters, mother and AP women

AMARAVATI: TDP Telugu Mahila state president Vangalapudi Anitha on Saturday demanded the YSRCP Government to initiate immediate steps to save people’s lives by preventing sale of illicit liquor, ganja and country arrack.

Anitha said from grama volunteers to MPs and MLAs, all the ruling YSRCP leaders were carrying out illegal arrack and ganja selling activities. How could CM Jagan Mohan Reddy play a spectator role when so many people were losing their lives?

Addressing a press conference here, the TDP leader expressed concern that cheap liquor was proving very harmful and taking a heavy toll on the health and lives of the drinkers. As a result, women were losing their mangala sutras. They were also falling victim to the atrocities by the drunken miscreants.

Anitha cautioned the Chief Minister against delaying action against the ganja and liquor gangs any longer. There would be serious repercussions if women would start revolting against the YCP regime. Over 17 innocent persons lost their lives due to consumption of country arrack at Jangareddygudem. CM Jagan Reddy should take responsibility for this. The ruling YSRCP leaders were making quick money at the cost of people’s lives.

The TDP leader asked who would take care of all those 17 families which were thrown on the roads following the death of their bread winners. Jagan Reddy toured every village and town before elections when he gave kisses, touched cheeks and showered flowery words on poor women. After becoming CM, he started suppressing and oppressing them in every way possible.

Anitha deplored that there was no safety under the YCP rule for women to come out of their homes any more. The promise of phased prohibition was thrown to the winds. Jagan Reddy closed the so-called Government liquor shops at some places but opened walk-in liquor stores all over the State. All businesses and stores were shut down during the Coronavirus pandemic but not the YSRCP Government liquor shops.

The TDP leader recalled how Speaker Tammineni Sitaram himself commented how volunteers and YCP leaders were squeezing the liquor addicts. Jagan Reddy had no concern for the well being of women. He brought Rs. 25,000 Cr loans by pledging income on cheap liquor sales for over 15 years. YCP MP Mithun Reddy’s cheap liquor companies were selling cheap brands through Government liquor shops.

Anitha said Jagan Reddy had cheated women in his own close family which was proof enough to his lack of any commitment to the cause of other women in the State. The CM had sacrificed his own sisters, babai and mother for his political and monetary greed. There was no way Jagan Reddy would come to the rescue of women. If all the women who were affected by the YCP atrocious policies began an agitation, then nobody would be able to save Jagan Reddy.
