TDP decries top postings to CM’s own caste

-Caste bias even in Collectors promotions: Ramaiah
-Governor should set right anomalies

AMARAVATI: TDP politburo member Varla Ramaiah on Monday accused the YSRCP Government of breaching social justice in giving top posts to one particular community while discriminating against weaker sections in Collectors promotions.

Ramaiah strongly objected to posting of top officers of the Chief Minister’s own community as Collector, SP, Vice Chancellors of universities and so on in Tirupati. Even the TTD top posts of Chairman, EO and JEO were given to the same community.

Addressing a press conference here, the TDP leader recalled how the YCP leaders made false allegations along caste lines against Chandrababu Naidu before the elections. Now, the Jagan regime has thrown social justice to the winds. How could Collector and SP be of the same community in one place?

He listed out one caste appointments in Tirupati, which were K. Venkataramana Reddy as Collector, Parameswara Reddy as SP, YV Subba Reddy as TTD Chairman, Jawahar Reddy as EO, Dharma Reddy as JEO, Vengamma Reddy as SVIMS Director , Raja Reddy as VC of SV University, Jamuna Reddy as VC of Padmavathi University, Kanaka Narasa Reddy as RDO and so on.

Ramaiah said though the TDP regime gave DSP promotions to just 5 Kammas, the YSRCP leaders campaigned that over 33 Kammas were promoted at that time. After coming to power, the YCP Home Minister herself clarified in the Assembly that only 5 Kammas were among the DSP promotees.

The TDP leader accused the Government of committing serious irregularities in Collectors’ promotions. An SC IAS officer was not promoted while his junior Reddy officer got the chance. Madhavilatha Reddy, a 2014 batch officer, was promoted from Joint Collector to Collector. Whereas, P. Raja Babu, a 2013 batch officer, was not given such promotion.

Ramaiah demanded that the Governor should intervene and rectify the anomalies in the top positions and promotions. There was a need for an ’emergency treatment’ to the psychological disease that the Jagan Reddy regime was suffering from. A sort of arrogant Palegars rule was going on in the State.

The TDP leader said it was high time for the Chief Minister, Chief Secretary and the DGP to realise the importance of ensuring social justice. There was a danger of the Reddy community getting isolated in society if this kind of favouritism continued. Not all Reddys were getting such undue favours and benefits under the Jagan Reddy regime.

Ramaiah asked whether the Jagan Reddy Government was deliberately discriminating against the SC Madiga officers. Not one SC Madiga officer was posted as one of the 26 Collectors in the laste appointments. If the CM neglected social justice, then the people would also ignore him when they would get the next chance.
