Vijayawada Division kickstarts Preventive Vigilance Campaign

Vijayawada Division, South Central Railway has launched Preventive Vigilance campaign to fight against corruption and to establish robust system with transparency. As a prelude to Vigilance Awareness Week 2023, Vijayawada Division has undertaken 3-month campaign. A poster on Awareness building about Public Interest Disclosure and Protection of Informers (PIDPI) Resolution is released today by Narendra A. Patil, Divisional Railway Manager, Vijayawada Division at DRM Office, Vijayawada.

Central Vigilance Commission observes Vigilance awareness week every year in the week in which the birthday of Shri Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel falls i.e., from 30th October 2023 till 05th November 2023 this year. As per the directives of Central Vigilance Commission (CVC), Vijayawada Division would be taking up 3-month long various Preventive Vigilance Activities across the Division. The basic objective of this Preventive Vigilance Campaign is to reaffirm our commitment to uphold integrity in public governance.

Unveiling the PIDPI (Public Interest Disclosure and Protection of Informers) poster today, Narendra A Patil, Divisional Railway Manager said that any organisation can achieve its fullest potential only when its employees work with integrity and where robust built-in checks are present to prevent corruption at all levels.

DRM said that during the campaign period various and widespread activities of preventive vigilance would be taken up with full vigour across the Division. He also said that this PIDPI awareness building campaign is aimed to enlighten the staff regarding provision for protection of the identity of complainant by keeping it confidential in the larger interest of organization.

Narendra A Patil stated that as part of preventive vigilance campaign five more activities like capacity building programs, identification and implementation of systemic improvement measures, leveraging of it for complaint disposal, updating of circulars/ guidelines/ manuals, and disposal of complaints received before June 2023 in the ensuing three months.
