YCP casinos turned Gudivada into ‘Goavada’: Lokesh
Decries arrest of TDP fact finding committee
Condemns vandalism of Bonda Uma’s car
YCP Gaddam Gang masterminded illegal casinos
AMARAVATI: TDP National General Secretary Nara Lokesh on Friday condemned the ‘illegal arrest’ of the opposition TDP fact-finding committee members when they went to inquire into ‘casino activities’ in Gudivada town in Krishna district.
Nara Lokesh strongly objected to the ruling YSRCP goondas launching an attack on the Gudivada TDP office and also smashing the car window panes of Bonda Umamaheswara Rao. Apparently, the Jagan Reddy Government was frustrated and intolerant of growing criticism of the gambling activities.
In a statement here, Lokesh said the desperation of the ruling YSRCP exposed the fact that the ruling party’s ‘Gaddam Gang’ was the mastermind behind the recent casino held in K
Convention Hall. The YCP regime has converted a highly respected place of stalwarts like Gudivada into a ‘Goavada’ by holding casinos, recording dances and gambling.
Nara Lokesh deplored that the police stood there like silent spectators while the ruling YSRCP mobsters created havoc and stormed into the TDP office. The CM and his party leaders had exploited all systems and resources. Now, they were bent on promoting gambling in order to make the people bankrupt.
The TDP MLC asked how the police could arrest the fact-finding committee members instead of nabbing the organisers of illegal casinos and cheer girl dances. The Gaddam Gang has robbed the people of hundreds of crores by holding casinos indiscriminately.
Lokesh expressed concern that the Coronavirus restrictions did not come in the way of holding the unlawful casinos in Gudivada. However, the Covid guidelines were being misused to block the TDP leaders from visiting the venue of illegal gambling activities. The false arrests had only exposed the bankruptcy of the Jagan Reddy regime, which was unable to face the rising public resentment in just three years of coming to power.
