-No action against YCP culprits till now: Ramaiah
-MP Suresh manhandled police station staff
-Seediri abused CI on duty in CM’s visit

AMARAVATI: TDP politburo member Varla Ramaiah on Wednesday urged DGP K.V. Rajendranath Reddy to initiate deterrent action against the guilty YSRCP leaders for ‘abusing and manhandling’ the police and Government officers in the State.

In his first letter to the new DGP here, Ramaiah stressed the need for restraining the ruling party leaders who have been resorting to blatant misuse of power to attack all sections of society. The victimised officers were left demotivated and frightened due to lack of any action against the culprits.

The TDP leader said on February, 16, this year, YCP MP Nandigam Suresh stormed into the Krishnalanka police station in Vijayawada and threatened the police officers there. The furniture was damaged. The MP manhandled the police officers and forcibly released three youngsters from their custody. The youths were taken into custody for causing nuisance by riding their motorcycle at high speed.

Ramaiah told Rajendranath Reddy that no action has been taken so far against Nandigam Suresh. On February 9, 2022, Minister Seediri Appala Raju threatened and hurled abusive words at the circle inspector on duty. It happened during the Chief Minister’s visit to Sarada Peetham in Visakhapatnam. The Minister laid his hands on the CIs chest and pushed him. The victimised CI was not even in a position to file a complaint.

The TDP leader said on January 19, 2022, YCP Kovur MLA Nallapureddy Prasannakumar Reddy made derogatory remarks against the Nellore district SP in a public meeting. No action has been taken even though the district police boss was victimised. On October 22, 2021, local YCP leader Kodanda Reddy pushed and abused CI Sadiq Ali in the Kuppam assembly segment.

Ramaiah told the DGP that no action has been initiated against YCP Gurajala MLA Kasu Mahesh Reddy despite his insulting remarks against the police on October 12, 2021. YCP Tadikonda MLA Undavalli Sridevi hurled abuses on the local CI on September 18, 2021 for stopping sand lorries.

The TDP leader recalled how the YCP goondas attacked and injured the police for trying to prevent the attacks on TDP MLA Velagapudi Ramakrishna Babu’s office in Visakhapatnam on December 19, 2020. YCP leader Lakshmi Narasamma slapped CI Lalitha in Srikakulam town on March 12, 2020. Nellore Rural MLA Kotamreddy Sridhar Reddy threatened Venkatachalam MPDO Sarala. YCP leader Amanchi Krishna Mohan hurled abuses at the police.

Ramaiah said in the latest incident on February 15, 2022, YCP leader Padma Reddy used abusive language against Gudivada Tahsildar Srinivasa Rao belonging to Dalit sections for not issuing not objection certificate. The incident happened in the presence of Minister Kodali Nani and MP Balashowry but no action was taken so far.
