TDP candle protests against current charges hike

-Jagan brought darkness on Ugadi day: Atchannaidu
-People suffering while J-gangs flourishing

AMARAVATI: TDP state president K. Atchannaidu on Friday said their party leaders and cadres would carry out week-long ‘candle protests’ all over the State from Saturday to rally people against the steep hike in current charges.

Atchannaidu said Chief Minister Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy filled the lives of people with darkness and deprived them of any chance to celebrate this Ugadi festival. Nobody expected that Jagan Reddy would punish the AP people with a hike in current charges from their Telugu new year day itself.

In a statement here, the TDP leader deplored that the people were being forced to come out on the roads to take part in protests at a time when they should be celebrating the festival with their near and dear ones. Jagan Reddy has made the lives of all sections miserable with his taxes and cuts and lies and betrayals.

Atchannaidu said while the lives of the poor and middle class sections were plunged into darkness, the families of J-gangs were leading lavish lifestyles with overnight corruption money. On its part, the TDP would fight a never ending struggle in the midst of the people itself.

The TDP leader said as part of the week long protests, their party activists would distribute candles and match boxes at the doorsteps of the people. The anti-current charges agitation would be intensified in different phases till the Jagan Reddy regime would roll back the rates.
