A Special Residential College & Employment Opportunities To Locals

Nara Lokesh Promises Fishermen In Kakinada

The fishermen from Kakinada today met TDP National General Secretary Nara Lokesh at the statue of GMC Balayogi and presented a petition, saying that the subsidy on diesel should be increased to support them. They mentioned that fishermen are not fully receiving government subsidies, and fishing areas are far away from development. Additionally, they highlighted the lack of suitable market sheds for fishermen’s businesses and the migration of youth to other areas due to a lack of employment opportunities. The fishermen also emphasized the need to increase compensation for the families of those who go hunting and die. They further requested a two-way bus facility for students studying in government schools and colleges in remote areas.

Responding to their pleas, Nara Lokesh mentioned that the Jagan government has neglected the welfare of fishermen, who constitute the largest population in Kakinada. He criticized the formation of a chairless corporation without allocating any funds. He pointed out that during the previous TDP government, they provided subsidized boats, nets, and other tools to fishermen under the Adharana scheme. Assuring support, he promised that, after the TDP comes to power, they would set up suitable sheds for selling fisheries and establish a special residential college for the children of fishermen in Kakinada. He said that TDP will provide improved marketing facilities and employment opportunities to local fishermen’s youth.
