Senior IPS officer AB Venkateswara Rao on Friday took charge as Commissioner of Stationery and Printing. Employees working in the Commissionerate welcomed him as soon as he entered his office.
Speaking to the media after taking charge, Rao said that he has no awareness regarding the functioning of the Printing and Stationary in the state. “I will strive for the development of the department after holding a meeting with the employees,” he mentioned.
To a question, the top cop denied that the YSRCP government had placed him in an unimportant post. “The state government has full powers in allocation of posts,” he added. Later, Rao inspected the office.
As no chamber was allotted to him, he took charge in the chamber of Deputy General Manager after a gap of two years. He was placed under suspension by the Jagan government on the allegations committing fraud in procurement of security equipment.
