-Jagan brands contain fatal, toxic chemicals: Anuradha
-AP brands cause mental and physical diseases: Chemist
-CM doing business over dead bodies of drinkers: Anam
AMARAVATI: TDP leaders and chemical experts on Saturday slammed the YSRCP Government for selling spurious liquor brands that were taking lives of people in Andhra Pradesh.
They released lab reports and showed them as proof that there were toxic and fatal chemicals in the liquor brands being sold in the State. Chief Minister Jagan Mohan Reddy not betrayed his phased prohibition promise but he was playing dangerous games with the lives of people.
Addressing a joint press conference here, TDP state general secretary Panchumarthi Anuradha said Jagan Reddy was tearing ‘mangalsutras’ of women on the one hand and counting his illegal liquor income by sitting in his Tadepalli palace on the other hand. Chandrababu and Lokesh had rightly advised the CM not to do business over the dead bodies of drinkers.
Anuradha deplored that instead of properly advising the ‘criminal spurious liquor CM’, the then excise commissioner Rajat Bhargava spoke about technology to divert public attention. Lab reports were saying that those drinking spurious liquor were suffering from brain and mental disorders. Their descendants would face the risk of being born with polio, lame, blindness, deafness and dumb illnesses.
Chemical expert Varun said that those drinking harmful liquor brands in AP would face deterioration of physical and mental health. Genetic diseases and respiratory illnesses would affect their next generations. When lab reports exposed fatal chemicals in AP brands, the then excise commissioner asked whether samples were taken in Andhra Pradesh or not? Whether they were authorised or not?
Varun said that the liquor samples were taken from Government liquor shops using geo tagging at Ananthapuram, Gutti, Chilakaluripet, North Andhra, Coastal Andhra and Rayalaseema. The lab tests were held on brands like ‘Andhra Gold’, ‘Silver Stripes whiskey’, ‘Nine Seas Horse’ and so on.
The chemical expert said that these brands contained harmful and toxic chemicals like Pyrogallol, Iso Fluoric Acid and Dyethylpathallate. These toxins would cause cough, throat ache, redness in eyes, vomitings, diarrhoea, erratic breathing, fall in BP, nervous disorders, dizziness, headache, mental imbalance, convulsions and fits.
TDP state official spokesperson Anam Venkata Ramana Reddy asked why Jagan Reddy ignored prohibition when he treated his election manifesto as the Bible, Quran and the Gita. When illegal liquor was seized, the police were letting go of the actual smugglers but arresting salesmen.
