Ayyannapatrudu’s arrest exposed Jagan’s vengeful attitude, says TDP

Amaravathi, Nov 4: The former minister and TDP politburo member, Mr Kimidi Kala Venkat Rao, on Friday said that the arrest of the TDP leader, Mr Nimmakayala Ayyannaptrudu, is nothing but misusing power by the Chief Minister, Mr Jagan Mohan Reddy, and it thoroughly exposed his vengeful attitude towards the Opposition party leaders.

It has become a practice to Mr Jagan that whenever the TDP leaders expose his failures he will resort to such acts only to divert the public attention. The State Government’s move on the arrest of Mr Ayyannapatrudu is very wicked, Mr Kimidi Kala Venkat Rao told media persons here.

The statement given by Ms Sharmila, the sister of Mr Jagan, to the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) on the murder of their paternal uncle, Mr YS Vivekananda Reddy, kicked up serious debate among the public on Mr Jagan’s role and thus Mr Jagan resorted to this kind of wicked act to see to it that the public attention is diverted, the TDP leader said. Mr Kala Venkat Rao reminded Mr Jagan about the fact that the Constitution, the law and the democracy are still in existence.

He asked whether the people have the right to question the administration and how Mr Ayyannapatrudu can be taken into custody like a terrorist. Is it wrong if Mr Ayyannaptrudu questions the Government on the misuse of funds raised through mortgaging thousands of acres of government land in Visakhapatnam, he asked.

Is it not a fact that the ruling party leaders looted the State in the past three-and-half years and illegally occupied hundreds of acres of lands in the port city of Visakhapatnam, Mr Kimidi Kala Venkat Rao questioned the YSRCP leaders. Is it a crime that Mr Ayyannapatrudu questioned the ruling party leaders on the atrocities being committed by them in his home district, he said.

A false case has been filed by a retired official against Mr Ayyannapatrudu that two cents of land was occupied by him and he was arrested without any inquiry, the TDP leader pointed out. The police officials should feel ashamed to go to his house at midnight and jump the walls to enter his residence, which amounts to violating the fundamental rights, he added.

g blatantly violated by the government agencies themselves and Mr Jagan resorted to it only to divert the public attention from the major issues like his uncle’s murder, illegal occupation of lands by the ruling party leadres and the ongoing murders in the State, Mr Kala Venkat Rao felt. Mr Ayyannapatrudu, who has no negative remarks in his 40year-long political career, was harassed and was humiliated as he belongs to the Backward Classes (BC) community, he said.

Observing that it is the TDP that always stood by the BCs, he said adding that in the mandal-system and in the zilla parishands, 20 per cent reservation each was given to the community. Majority of the BCs have become MPs, MLAs and MLCs only during the TDP regime but after the YSRCP came to power the community is really feeling threatened, Mr Kala Venkat Rao said.

Making it clear that such threats will not weaken the community strength, Mr Kimidi Kala Venkat Rao said that the TDP will xplain to the public on how the BCs are suffering in YSRCP rule. The day is not too far when the whole BC community comes onto a common platform to fight against the evil designs of Mr Jagan, he added.
