Amaravati,June 26: YSR Congress Party has scored a big win in the Atmakur by-election with people extending their continous support to YS Jagan Mohan Reddy’s governance, said Minister for Water Resources, Ambati Rambabu.
Addressing a press conference here on Sunday, he said that people have witnessed the good governance and welfare initiatives brought in by Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy, which resulted in securing continious victories, with increasing majority. Taking the track record of YSRCP winning all the elections, including the bypolls for Tirupati Lok Sabha and Badvel Assembly constituency, the Minister said that the Party has won with a huge majority of 2.7 lakh votes in Tirupati bypoll, despite the massive campaigns done by the opposition parties TDP and Jana Sena. and in Badvel by a whopping majority of 90228 votes.
In regard to Atmakur bypoll, he said that another massive win was secured as YSRCP candidate Mekapati Vikram Reddy won with a majority of 83888 votes, surpassing the previous majority of 22276 votes in 2019. He said that people always stood by YSRCP irrespective of the evil conspiracies of opposition parties, especially TDP leaders who had even worked as BJP poll agents.
Stating that the poison is in the minds of TDP leaders but not in the liquor, the minister brushed aside the malicious propaganda of opposition on liquor policy. He said that the available Indian Made Foreign Liquor was being distilled by licensed distilleries in the State, and stressed that the current government had not permitted any new distilleries and breweries, and the existing ones were allowed by the previous government. It was Naidu’s government that gave permissions to numerous brands and for seven distilleries in his five year rule, he said, and stated that Chandrababu has brought 14 distilleries during his term.
