BRS is ‘BJP-Rishtedar Samithi’: Rahul Gandhi

· Says, Modi has KCR’s remote control
· Party’s doors open for all Congressmen who had left
· Rs 4000 monthly pension for elderly, widows when Cong comes to power

KHAMMAM (TELANGANA), July 2: Former Congress president Rahul Gandhi today said that the Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) was the B-team of the Bharatiya Janata Party and that the remote control of Chief Minister K Chandrashekhar Rao was in the hands of Prime Minister Narendra Modi. He also announced that when Congress will form the government in the state, it will provide a monthly pension of Rs 4000 to each elderly person and the widows.

He also told all those Congressmen who had left that the party’s doors were open for them to return.

Addressing a mammoth ‘Telangana Jana Garjana Sabha’ attended by lakhs of people here today, Mr Gandhi said, the Congress party had made it categorically clear to everyone that it will have nothing to do with the BRS, which was the B-team of the BJP and also extremely corrupt. He said the BRS party had proved itself by changing the name from TRS to BRS meaning, “BJP-Rishtedar Samithi”.

The senior Congress leader said, “Telangana was a dream; a dream of the poor, of the farmers, dream of the labourers, dream of the farmers and in the last nine years, the TRS only crushed this dream”. “You had dreamt of something and TRS turned it into something else”, he told a massive crowd independently estimated to be over one million. He said, the Chief Minister believes that he is the king of Telangana and Telangana is his personal fiefdom.

Rahul Gandhi said, the land that Ms Indira Gandhi and Congress party had granted to the Dalits, the tribal people and the poor was being taken away by the BRS. But, he assured the people, “let me assure you, as you had asked this question during Bharat Jodo Yatra also, this land does not belong to the Chief Minister, it is yours, it is your right and the Congress party will handover that land to you”.

Mr Gandhi told the Congress workers that they were the backbone of the party and once they decide that BRS is to be thrown out of the state, they will do it like it was done in Karnataka.

Accusing the Telangana Chief Minister Rao of corruption, he said, all the agencies were aware of it and that is why he was playing as a B-team to the BJP and that is why his remote control was in the hands of the Prime Minister Modi. He disclosed that whenever the Congress party confronted and opposed the BJP in the parliament, BRS played as a B-team of the BJP.

He said, that is why the Congress party made it categorically clear to the opposition parties, when a meeting was held, that the Congress party will not attend any meeting which will be attended by the BRS as it was not only corrupt, but was the B-team of the BJP.

The former Congress president told all those Congressmen who had left the party earlier, that the party’s doors were always open for them. He said, anyone who believed in Congress ideology is always welcome, but the party had nothing to do with those who subscribed to the ideology of the BJP or the BRS. He said, while the BJP preached hate, the Congress party preached love.

Mr Gandhi said, earlier it was thought that there was a triangular fight between the Congress, the BRS and the BJP in Telangana. He said, the BJP has been wiped out of Telangana and now the fight is between the Congress and the BJP’s B team (BRS). We defeated the BJP in Karnataka, the same way we will defeat BJP’s B-team in Telangana also, he told the crowd amidst thundering applause.

Prominent among those present included AICC’s Telangana incharge Manikrao Thakre, PCC president Revanth Reddy, Bhatti Vikramarka, Jeevan Reddy, Madhu Goud Yakshi, Renuka Chaudhary, N. Uttam Kumar Reddy and others.
