Nandigama (Krishna Dist), Nov 4: The former chief minister and Telugu Desam Party (TDP) national president, Mr Nara Chandrababu Naidu, on Friday called upon the people of the State to defeat the YSRCP in the coming elections as all the sections in Andhra Pradesh are facing deep trouble in every aspect.
Addressing a road-show at the Gandhi Centre in Nandigam of Krishna district in the evening, Mr Chandrababu Naidu said that if the people want a peaceful atmosphere in the State, the only option is that the TDP should come back to power. He called upon all sections of people to join hands to save Andhra Pradesh from the clutches of the YSRCP.
A large number of TDP activists and the common public gathered for the road-show and some unknown persons hurled stones at the convoy of Mr Chandrababu. Totally annoyed at the incident, Mr Naidu said that the YSRCP workers, like thieves, threw stones at his convoy. The YSRCP wants to rule the State by foisting false cases and by attacking the TDP leaders but the TDP is not a party that is scared of such empty threats, he remarked.
“You can file any number of cases and what happened to the illegal case registered against the senior TDP leader, Mr Ayyannapatrudu,” Mr Chandrababu asked. The former chief minister said that after the division of Andhra Pradesh he has taken the State forward with a vision, the YSRCP is now adopting a destructive attitude and is damaging the prospects of the State.
“The foundation that I laid in Hyderabad during my tenure created huge wealth to the city now and the poor too are taking advantage of the growth,” Mr Naidu said. But now the Chief Minister, Mr Jagan Mohan Reddy, raised huge debts amounting to a whooping Rs 8 lakh cr and ultimately it is the common man who has to repay these debts, he maintained.
How such a leader can develop North Andhra, he asked and pointed out that the local MLAs are looting the whole district. The State does not need an inhuman Chief Minister like Mr Jagan and all the sections, including the farmers, are suffering a lot now. What is the fate of the Muktyal Lift Irrigation scheme that was launched during the TDP regime, he asked and expressed surprise as to why the Anna Canteens, which were feeding the poor, are closed.
There is no employment generation after Mr Jagan took charge as the Chief Minister while the industrial sector is the worst-hit. “It is the TDP that provided huge employment opportunities in the IT sector and also created several teacher posts,” Mr Naidu observed. This Government did not pay even the arrears to the employees, including police officials, but resorting to impose heavy taxes on the common man.
The former chief minister predicted that Mr Jagan will soon enact a ‘Kodi Katti’ drama and asked the people to be alert on such acts. “I am only bothered about the future of the State but not about myself,” Mr Chandrababu Naidu stated and called upon the people to defeat the YSRCP in the coming polls.
