Dr Dasoju Sravan fired on Telangana Govt

1. BJP senior leader Dr Dasoju Sravan fired on Telangana Govt for trying to save the guilty in Ibrahimpatnam family planning operations deaths incident, which shook the entire nation. He demanded CM KCR to immediately suspend Director of Health G Srinivasa Rao, Rangareddy district DMHO and hand over the probe on four women deaths to a sitting Judge.

2. Dr Sravan came down heavily on CM KCR for trying to escape from the punishment and blame by announcing a paltry ex-gratia for the victims. Seeking action on the senior health officials and demanding justice for the victims families, Dr Dasoju Sravan wrote an open letter to CM K Chandrashekar Rao on Saturday

3. “As family planning operations come under the Union Health Ministry, four lakhs will be paid by the Central Government itself. That means Telangana Govt is paying just a paltry Rs one lakh. It’s nothing but humiliating the victims. Telangana Govt should pay Rs One Crore ex-gratia to the death victims families. Govt should also pay ex-gratia to the women who are undergoing treatment at Apollo Hospitals and save them by offering the best healthcare facilities,” demanded Dr Dasoju Sravan.

Hyderabad, Sep 3: BJP senior leader Dr Dasoju Sravan fired on Telangana Govt for trying to save the guilty in Ibrahimpatnam family planning operations deaths incident, which shook the entire nation. Making TRS Govt and Health Department senior officials responsible for the death of four women in Ibrahimpatnam family planning incident, Dr Sravan came down heavily on CM KCR for trying to escape from the punishment by announcing a paltry ex-gratia for the victims.

“TRS Govt, which has always neglected hospitals and healthcare in Telangana, has created unenvious record with the death of four women in family planning operations fiasco. Never in history has such a glaring negligence been witnessed, where four women died purely because of the negligence of doctors. It is atrocious, when healthcare facilities have become so advanced, the Telangana Government could not even safely handle family planning operations. It is sad that while such a heart wrenching incident has shook so many families, CM K Chandrashekar Rao has not even visited or consoled the families of victims,” complained Dr Dasoju Sravan.

Seeking action on the senior health officials and demanding justice for the victims families, Dr Dasoju Sravan wrote an open letter to CM K Chandrashekar Rao on Saturday. He found fault with the Govt for assigning the probe into the deaths of women to Director of Public Health (DH) G Srinivasa Rao, while he himself is the main culprit in the entire episode.

“It is extremely unfortunate that the Govt has assigned the responsibility of the probe into the death of four women to Director of Public Health G Srinivasa Rao, while he himself is the main culprit. TRS Govt is trying to save G Srinivas Rao by suspending the lower level officials. DH Srinivas Rao is irresponsibly saying that equipment used for the operations have been sterilised and they have done no mistake. If no mistake has occurred then how did four women die? These are not accidental deaths but murders done by TRS Govt and Health Department officials. To escape from the punishment TRS Govt has suspended doctor and Vaidya Vidhana Parishad area hospital superintendent. Instead of making lower level officials scapegoats, Govt should immediately suspend DH G Srinivasa Rao, Rangareddy district DMHO, Ibrahimpatnam In-charge SPHO and hand over the probe to a sitting judge,” demanded Dr Dasoju Sravan.

Dr Dasoju Sravan marked the family planning operations failure, leading to 4 deaths and hospitalisation of about 35 women in Apollo Hospitals, as an indelible blot on the state of Telangana. Citing the past incidents where patients succumbed to rat bites in MGM hospital, Warangal, deaths due to lack of ventilators and others, Dr Dasoju Sravan rued that CM KCR has completely destroyed the healthcare in Telangana.

“After completely destroying the healthcare system and pushing women into the verge of death, KCR is trying to escape from the punishment by announcing Rs 5 lakh ex-gratia and double bedroom homes. Will the deceased women come back to life with ex-gratia? As family planning operations come under the Union Health Ministry, four lakhs will be paid by the Central Government itself.
