Amaravathi: Expressing serious concern that Andhra Pradesh has been witnessing one atrocity for every five minutes, a violent incident for every 10 minutes and a murder for every half-an-hour, the former minister and TDP senior leader, Mr Alapati Rajendra Prasad, asked the Chief Minister, Mr Jagan Mohan Reddy, on Saturday for whose sake and for what purpose this demon rule is being continued in the State.
“It is really regrettable that the National Crime Records Bureau in its report mentioned Andhra Pradesh as the second place in the country in atrocities,” Mr Rajendra Prasad told media persons here on Saturday. Mr Jagan has transformed the State into a hub for murders, rapes, ravages and robberies, the former minister said.
Compared to the previous government it is clearly visible how the law and order situation in the State has collapsed, Mr Rajendra Prasad lamented. “It is now clear that Mr Jagan’s rule is only to loot the people and the State has achieved much progress in anti-social activities and lawlessness,” he said.
At least 52,000 women have become victims of various kinds of atrocities till now while 22,278 missing cases have been reported and acid attacks are reported at least on nine girls, Mr Rajendra Prasad said and felt that the State Government is solely responsible for all these atrocities. How the Chief Minister, who did not respond to the kidnap of the family members of his own party MP in Visakhapatnam can save this State, he asked.
On top of it, false cases are being foisted against those who are raising their voice on such barbaric incidents, he said and expressed concern that at least 23 BCs have fallen victims to this Government’s persecution while 74 political murders have been reported. Can this Chief Minister, who could not take action against those who killed his own paternal uncle, save the common man, Mr Rajendra Prasad asked.
Stating that there is no place for law, justice and integrity in the State, the former minister said that the land, sand, mining and ganja mafia is now ruling the roost. The day is not too far when these ruling party leaders have to take to their heels, Mr Rajendra Prasad maintained.
