Vijayawada, July 1: Andhra Pradesh Governor Sri Biswabhusan Harichandan has felicitated Kidambi Srikanth and G. Krishna Prasad, Badminton players who were part of the Indian team that won the historic Thomas Cup championship, Jafreen Shaik, who won the bronze medal in the Mixed Doubles Tennis tournament of Deaflympics 2021 and S. Chandrakala, who won four gold medals in the Asian Powerlifting Championship, at a function held in Durbar Hall in Raj Bhavan here on Friday.
Governor Sri Harichandan felicitated the sportspersons by presentation of memento and shawl to each of them and wished them to win many more tournaments and bring laurels for the country.
Sri R.P. Sisodia, Special Chief Secretary to Governor, Sri Rajat Bhargava, Special Chief Secretary, Youth Affairs, Tourism & Culture and Sri N. Prabhakar Reddy, Vice Chairman & MD, Sports Authority of Andhra Pradesh, were also present on the occasion.
