Hare Krishna Movement–Hyderabad’s cultural wing, SUMEDHASA (intelligence through culture), is delighted to announce the commencement of “Heritage Fest” Telangana’s Biggest Cultural Carnival for children, starting from July 2023.
With the noble vision of nurturing a strong and confident future generation, free from anxiety, depression, inferiority complex, and self-pity, Sumedhasa presents the Heritage Fest event. This event is specifically designed for students from LKG to 10th class, offering a series of activities where children can learn about India’s rich culture, glorious history, and enhance their talents and skills.
Heritage Fest is an annual cultural extravaganza that celebrates India’s vibrant culture and traditions, while also promoting our Vedic culture and universal ethical values. Labeled as a festival of “enlightenment, creativity, and entertainment,” Heritage Fest stands out as a unique event, covering a wide spectrum of activities and witnessing massive participation from school children. Over the past eight years, we have reached out to 40,000 students across 2000 schools, which serves as a testament to the overwhelming response received towards the event.
This year, we anticipate the enthusiastic participation of around 30,000 students from more than 300 schools in Telangana state alone.
Heritage Fest serves as a platform not only for cultural contests but also as an endeavor to bridge the cultural divide in this era of technology-driven lifestyles, increasing juvenile delinquency, and heightened stress levels among children. The event will feature a variety of contests, including coloring, painting, Gita-Sloka chanting, puranic costumes, classical dance, vocal music, cookery, pushpalankara, rangoli, drama, folk dance and storytelling. These competitions aim to tap into children’s creativity, intellect, and artistic inclinations.
The contests will be conducted at different locations including Feelkhana, Banjarahills, Ghatkesar, Kukatpally, Dilsukhnagar, Chaitanyapuri, Kachiguda, Secunderabad, Shamshabad, Kothapet, Mehdipatnam, Bachupally, Erragadda, and Kandi, on various dates as mentioned below.
