AP BJP Political Feedback Pramukh, Dinakar Lanka
The release of funds for Rs.10,461 crores by the Central Government to Andhra Pradesh as part of the Revenue Deficit compensation pertaining for the financial year 2014-15 is a welcome development, It is honour for the then PM announcement in the Rajyasabha as per the pressure from the then opposition leaders Arun Jaitly and Venkaiah Naidu from BJP for the recovery of resource gap of residuary state of Andhra Pradesh after bifurcation of United Andhra Pradesh for the first year of the post bifurcation of United Andhra Pradesh.
As the part of continuous efforts from 2015 till today of the State Government of Andhra Pradesh to compensate the revenue deficit for the year 2014-15 has become fruitful as the PM Narendra Modi led Union Government responded positively after examination of the facts for last 9 years. But these funds should not be misappropriated by the state government and it should not be spent for unproductive means.
The funds given by the Central Government in this precarious situation should be used without wasting for the completion of Projects like Velugonda, Handri-Niva, Galeru-Nagari etc. Apart from this, there is a rumour spreading that assistance to the Polavaram Irrigation Project has been compromised by releasing the central assistance for recovery of revenue deficit pertaining to 2014-15, it is far away from the truth. Polavaram Irrigation Project will be completed as per section 90 of the AP Reorganization Act subject to deliberations with the State Government from time to time.
The release of funds by the central government is for the benefit of the state, it does not matter who is in power in the state. It is the responsibility of the state government to utilize the given resources for productive means rather than wasting the resources.
