Vijay Sai’s initial statements raised suspicions: Rajappa
Jagan made baseless allegations against Naidu
AMARAVATI: TDP leader and former home minister Nimmakayala Chinarajappa on Sunday advised the YSRCP Government not to neglect the investigation into the sensational Vivekananda Reddy murder any longer.
Chinarajappa said that the Jagan Reddy regime tried to misguide the investigation till now and the time has come for a transparent probe into the whole case. Greater clarity was required since YSRCP MP Vijay Sai Reddy’s statements at the time of murder gave rise to a lot of suspicion all over the State.
Addressing a press conference here, the TDP leader recalled how Vijay Sai first announced that Vivekananda Reddy died due to cardiac arrest. Within no time, the MP changed his statement saying that there were stitches when the body was taken to the hospital. There was no coherence in the statements that were given by the YSRCP leaders on the day of the murder.
Chinarajappa asked how Jaganmohan Reddy could hold a press conference at that time only to level a baseless allegation that the then Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu was responsible for the murder. CM Jagan should give an explanation on this now since the facts were coming out with full clarity. It was a fact that the Jagan regime did not give any cooperation to crack the mystery behind the killing of Viveka.
The TDP leader said that the Viveka murder investigation was enough to say how the YSRCP rule had totally neglected the law and order situation in Andhra Pradesh. The Chandrababu regime, however, took utmost care to maintain peace in the State so as to ensure greater investments and industrial development. Whereas, Jaganmohan Reddy never bothered about the development of the State but only aimed at improving his political prospects.
Chinarajappa deplored that when he was the opposition leader, Jagan Reddy worked with the sole purpose of becoming the Chief Minister. He made countless cheap allegations without showing any commitment to the well being of the people. Jagan Reddy demanded CBI probe into Viveka murder when he was in the opposition but totally reversed his stand after becoming the CM.
The TDP leader asked why CM Jagan Reddy did not bother to take the murder probe forward even after two and half years of his rule. The case already given to the CBI was withdrawn by the YCP regime. The CBI restarted the probe only after the mother and daughter of Viveka petitioned the court. Jagan Reddy came to power by virtue of his untruths and he continued to tell lies even after coming to power.
Chinarajappa said that the people of AP should realise why CM Jagan was changing his statements and his stand on the Viveka murder from season to season. Jagan Reddy has not uttered a single word on the murder case probe in the past two and half years. If he continued to keep silent on this even now, it would mean that he had prior information about the Viveka murder.
