-Labour Minister became ‘Commissions -Minister’: Kollu
-TDP will bring out all scams of Minister Jayaram
AMARAVATI: TDP former Minister Kollu Ravindra on Thursday accused Labour Minister Gummanuri Jayaram of committing over Rs. 735 Cr of corruption in the past three years of the YSRCP rule.
Ravindra said Minister Jayaram focused on amassing lavish gifts like a ‘benz car’ while leaving the workers to their fate. Irregularities have taken place in every issue relating to the workers.
Addressing a press conference here, the TDP leader said the Minister has snatched Rs. 6 Cr commissions by promising to increase the age limit of ESI medical staff from 60 to 63 years. Commissions of Rs. 140 Cr were collected from ESI medicines suppliers, Rs. 28 Cr for sanctioning bills in referral hospitals and Rs. 5 Cr in empanelment of referral hospitals.
Kollu Ravindra slammed Jayaram for extorting Rs. 17 Cr in the workers insurance issues in the labour department. He resorted to land grabs by threatening industrialists with regard to construction workers’ insurance. J-tax was collected by setting up counters in ESI hospitals though they were meant for poor people.
The TDP leader demanded an explanation from the Minister why there was no action against gambling dens and illicit liquor manufacturing units in his own assembly constituency. Jayaram was demanding and collecting commissions in every small work being taken up in his segment. The road works were no exception.
Ravindra said the people were calling Jayaram a ‘Commissions Minister’ but not Labour Minister. He has committed lots of illegalities and atrocious activities for the sake of his frauds and scams. He has shown work opportunities for his party activists and leaders in illicit liquor and gambling dens. Thousands of families became victims of these unlawful activities.
The TDP leader asserted that their party would bring to the fore all the corruption scams of Gummanuri Jayaram in the coming days. Instead of developing his assembly segment as a model for others, the Minister has turned it into a hub of gambling and illicit liquor. There was no trace of any development or welfare in the Minister’s own constituency.
