-CM hometown got fish, prawn and illicit liquor
-Govt cannot misguide on liquor deaths
-Jagan cannot cheat all people all the time
AMARAVATI: TDP National General Secretary Nara Lokesh on Saturday slammed Chief Minister Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy for ‘failing’ to prevent flow of illicit liquor in his own Pulivendula assembly constituency in Kadapa district.
Lokesh said the officials registered over 300 illicit liquor cases in Pulivendula alone since January 2021. Without any conscience, the Chief Minister was telling utter lies that there was no illicit liquor anywhere in the State.
In a statement here, Lokesh ridiculed the question that Jagan Reddy so innocently asked whether it was possible to brew illicit liquor in a highly populated town like Jangareddygudem. How would the Chief Minister react now on illicit liquor dens found in his own assembly segment?
Nara Lokesh recalled how the CM boasted of his Government’s huge achievement for making it possible to bring fish and prawn to Pulivendula. He expressed awe and surprise at that time that nobody would have ever dreamt or imagined about fish and prawn coming to Pulivendula town. Now, illicit liquor dens had also come to the CM’s home town right under his nose.
The TDP MLC asserted that the YCP regime could no longer continue its misinformation campaigns on illicit and cheap liquor deaths. Doubts were arising whether Jagan Reddy had any curse that his head would break into thousand pieces if he uttered even a single truth. The ruling party would not be able to cheat the people forever. The CM cannot betray all the people all the time.
Lokesh termed it as a ‘misfortune’ that the people of Andhra Pradesh had got a Chief Minister who had no social responsibility at all. Lakhs of poor families were suffering heavily because of the highly priced harmful liquor brands. Many drinkers were falling sick with multiple organ failures and eventually dying.
Nara Lokesh advised the Chief Minister and his MLAs to open their eyes at least now. The poor drinkers were turning to illicit liquor as they were unable to pay high rates for J-brands of cheap liquor. Consequently, they were losing their lives. If illicit liquor was causing deaths instantly, the cheap liquor brands were killing the drinkers slowly by spoiling their body organs like liver, kidneys, etc.
The TDP MLC warned that the ruling YSRCP would remain responsible for destruction of all those families whose breadwinners either succumbed or suffered from health problems because of illicit liquor and J-brands. The adamant attitude of the Chief Minister was evident from how he was still trying to suppress illicit liquor deaths by diverging public attention.
