Lokesh decries ‘endless’ atrocities on women

-CM’s heart not melting at midnight rapes
-Head constable’s son assaulted married woman
-J-brands of liquor trigger atrocities on women

AMARAVATI: TDP national general secretary Nara Lokesh on Wednesday demanded the YSRCP Government to respond to non-stop atrocities being committed on women all across the State.

Nara Lokesh asserted that Home Minister Taneti Vanitha’s comment was unjustifiable and unjust. How could she say some rapes were taking place unexpectedly?
In a statement here, Lokesh condemned the latest incident in Vizianagaram where the son of a head constable made a sexual assault on a 25-year old married woman in front of children.

Chief Minister Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy’s heart was not melting even after the midnight atrocity in Vizianagaram. How many more women should have to fall victims to the culprits and gangsters? The perpetrators did not spare the married woman even when she hid herself in a relative’s house.

Lokesh said head constable’s son Cherry along with his friends made a inhuman attack on the helpless woman in Vizianagaram. The gangsters were drinking J-brands of liquor and resorting to mindless atrocities. In their intoxication, they were not knowing what crimes they were committing.

The TDP MLC once again asserted that the latest atrocity exposed how gangsters were getting emboldened any crime due to absence of any action from the Government. The general public were getting doubts whether there was an elected Government in the State to take care of their safety.

Nara Lokesh demanded that the Government ensure good medical care to the woman who was assaulted and injured in Vizianagaram. The culprits should be given suitable punishment that such incidents would not happen again. There should be no space for complacency in taking action in cases of atrocities against women.

Lokesh said the Chief Minister and his Ministers should stop betraying innocent women and girls in the name of Disha law. A non-existent law was being used to cover up the gross failures of the Government till now. Sincere efforts should be made to punish culprits so as to create confidence among the civil society.

The TDP MLC deplored that an unwanted situation came to prevail in the State that all sections of women were afraid even to step out of their homes. There were instances when criminals assaulted women even when they remained indoors in their homes. If special measures were not taken, more ghastly crimes would take place, making women’s even more miserable.
