Naidu calls CM a ‘betrayer of farmers’

-Jagan country’s richest CM but AP farmers debt-ridden
-CM acting like a ‘Pulivendula pilli’ before Delhi
-Pulivendula panchayati style will work no more

AMARAVATI: TDP National President and former Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu on Friday slammed the Jagan Mohan Reddy Government for betraying all sections of farmers in the State in the past three years.

Naidu said CM Jagan had damaged the prospects of Andhra Pradesh in every sector by adopting an egoistical and arrogant policy. Agriculture and irrigation were stuck in severe crisis because of the ruling party’s ruthless policies.

The TDP chief addressed the Telugu Rythu workshop held at Hanuman Junction in Krishna district when he accused the Chief Minister of causing injustice to the farmers, tenant farmers and farm coolies. CM Jagan Reddy was solely responsible for the AP farmers losing their rights on the reservoirs. Even for taking up any works on canals, the AP State would have to take permission of the Centre now.

Naidu said the Polavarm project was like a blessing for the AP farmers but now the Government had totally neglected it. If the TDP came to power in 2019, it would have completed Polavaram by June, 2020, itself. Over Rs. 70,000 Cr works would have been taken up in the five year term to complete all projects and canal works to ensure water supply to every acre of land.

Chandrababu Naidu said the Jagan regime had not fulfilled its promises regarding the Rythu Bharosa, Sunna Vaddi, crop insurance, input subsidy and so on. A peculiar situation was prevailing in AP now as it had got the country’s richest Chief Minister but its farmers were debt-ridden and committing suicides. AP stood in 2nd position in suicides of tenant farmers and in 3rd place in farmers suicides.

The TDP chief termed it as atrocious on the part of the ruling YSRCP leaders to malign the Amaravati Capital image along caste lines. No other State Government in the country would resort to such cheap campaigns to ruin its own projects. Out of inexperience and egoistical negligence, CM Jagan Reddy was destroying the State in all possible ways.

Naidu said there was a greater conspiracy in the YS Vivekananda Reddy murder case. The people should realise whether a person who killed his own babai would be eligible for the Chief Minister’s post. They thought of managing and covering up the Viveka murder just like the Paritala Ravindra murder in which all the accused were eliminated.

Chandrababu Naidu said CM Jagan Reddy could not realise that he would not be able to use the Pulivendula Panchayati style to suppress each and everything. It would not be possible. At the most, the CM could use that destructive tactic only within his close families and not even in Pulivendula any more. Jagan Reddy was acting like a ‘Puliverndula Puli’ (tiger) in AP but becoming a ‘pilli’ (meek cat) in front of Delhi.
