The TDP MLC, Mr Paruchuri Ashok Babu on Thursday demanded the Chief Minister, Mr Jagan Mohan Reddy, to bring before public the details on the fulfillment of the promises made to the people of the State.
Talking to media persons at the party headquarters here, Mr Ashok Babu said that before coming to power, Mr Jagan Reddy made several promises to the people which were not possible to implement. Both welfare and development have now been confined to the paper, he remarked.
The remarks made by both the Chief Minister and his Cabinet colleagues that 98 per cent of the promises made to the people have already been fulfilled are really ridiculous, Mr Ashok Babu said. Mr Jagan Mohan Reddy, who claims that the election manifesto is like Bagavadgita, Bible and Qhuran for him, is shamelessly uttering total falsehood, Mr Ashok Babu said.
The credit of implementing welfare schemes on caste basis goes to this Government alone, the TDP MLC remarked. Mr Ashok Babu demanded that the ruling dispensation come out with facts on the benefits extended to the people as being claimed by the Chief Minister and his Cabinet colleagues.
The Jagan Reddy Government has the credit of dividing the budgetary allocations on caste lines, he said and asked what is the fate of BC sub-plan.
Some farmers in Ananthapur district committed suicide in 2019-20 due to non-availability of seeds and the Government promised Rs 7 lakh compensation to each family but the amount has not been paid till now, he said adding that it is really shameful that even the Government has no mercy towards the farming community. The GDP and the average revenue reached the rock bottom level and it is less said the better with regard to the debt burden of the State, he maintained.
Mr Jagan has promised Rs 15,000 to each cotton farmer in the State under Rythu Bharosa scheme but ultimately only half of the amount has been paid, he said. The Pavala Vaddi scheme has been discontinued after Mr Jagan came to power and the diesel subsidy for aqua farmers too has been stopped.
Why Mr Jagan is not continuing the welfare programmes implemented by the earlier government, he asked and said that the people have realised the fact that the Chief Minister is giving them only one rupee from one hand and is grabbing Rs 30 from the other.
There is no response from the Government when asked what happened to the input subsidy for the farmers and the minimum support price for the farm products. Mr Ashok Babu dared the Government to come out with facts on any assistance extended to the people in Rayalaseema for drip irrigation. ”I am ready to resign as MLC if they have given even single rupee for drip irrigation in the region,” he said.
The agricultural products were purchased from the farmers in the Godavari districts but t amount due to them has not been paid yet, he said.
When in Opposition, Mr Jagan Mohan Reddy said that he would fill 2.3 lakh vacancies in various wings of the government but now he is claiming that there are only 75,000 vacancies, the TDP MLC said and dared any leader from the ruling party, including any MLA or MLC to come for an open debate on any issue.
The ruling dispensation is adopting a total reverse policy with regard to government employees and made it clear that the CPS can not be done away with. What happened to the promises made on Polavaram project and why Mr Jagan Reddy is pulling up his Ministers for everything if all is well and the people are happy with the welfare schemes as claimed, he asked. Mr Ashok Babu demanded that the Chief Minister respond on all these issues and come out with the facts.
