-Daily atrocities marked 3-year misrule: Anitha
-Jagan cheated ‘akka chellemmalu’
AMARAVATI: TDP Mahila state president V. Anitha and ex ZP chairperson Gadde Anuradha on Friday slammed Chief Minister Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy for not fulfilling promises he made to women in the 2019 elections.
The TDP leaders said Jagan Reddy staged mesmerising dramas by calling women his ‘akka chellemmalu’ (elder and younger sisters). But after winning the polls, the CM turned into a ‘betrayer of women’ and perpetrated betrayals that were unforeseen in the history of Andhra Pradesh.
Addressing a joint press conference here, the TDP women leaders deplored that not a day passed without an atrocity taking place against women in the past three years of Jagan’s chaotic rule. The perpetrators of these atrocities were the ruling YSRCP leaders, activists and their party sponsored volunteers only.
Vangalapudi Anitha said that the Chief Minister and his party MLAs were remaining silent spectators to the non-stop crimes against women. In most cases, the rulers were protecting the accused persons while causing more hardships to the victims. As a result, the ruling party miscreants were behaving like maniacs and spreading terror all over.
The TDP demanded Jagan Reddy to explain why he was silent on atrocities contrary to his countless promises and kisses to women and girls before elections. All sections of women were vexed and they were ready to lead a joint struggle on the lines of anti-liquor agitation in the past to throw Jagan Reddy out of the CM chair.
Gadde Anuradha said the Chief Minister and his Ministers were still cheating the women of the State by talking about the non-existent Disha law. The CM should clarify how the unapproved Disha law could protect any woman in the State. Jagan Reddy should have listed out the non-stop atrocities in AP as his Government’s achievements during his Davos visit.
The TDP leader suggested that the Chief Minister should start programmes like ‘Rapists Bharosa’ like Rythu Bharosa, ‘Dowrjanyala Deevena’ (extortions) and ‘Atyacharala Aasara’ (atrocities). The YCP rulers were misusing the police to harass and suppress the voices of the TDP, people’s organisations and the general public.
