-YCP Dalit legislators should speak on attacks: Jawahar
-Govt killed Dr Sudhakar, Om Pratap, Kiran Kumar, etc
AMARAVATI: TDP former Minister K.S. Jawahar on Tuesday urged YSRCP Dalit MLAs and MLCs to speak in the Assembly and the Council on the injustice and betrayals meted out to Dalits under the Jagan Mohan Reddy Government.
Jawahar said CM Jagan promised countless things to Dalits at the time of elections but after coming to power with their votes, he started oppressing them. The welfare programmes started in the TDP regime were stopped and the Dalits’ lands were taken back forcibly in the name of ‘one cent distribution’.
The TDP leader wrote an open letter to the YCP Dalit legislators, saying that the Jagan regime had done severe injustice to Dalits by diverting the sub plan funds. On the other hand, countless atrocities and persecutions took place. The deaths of Visakhapatnam’s Dr. Sudhakar, Chittoor district’s Om Pratap and Chirala’s Kiran Kumar were all Government murders.
Jawahar recalled how there was no action when a Dalit woman named Nagamma was molested and murdered in the Chief Minister’s own Pulivendula assembly constituency. The YCP legislators should open their mouths on all these wrongs in the legislative bodies in order to rescue the Dalits. The inefficient YSRCP regime was responsible for the untold suffering of the SC, STs.
The TDP former minister listed out over 27 items on which the present Government had deprived the weaker sections of their constitutional rights. The demand for reservations in promotions was not accepted. The Government had not issued any GO to give effect to the need for giving notices under CrPC 41 section under the SC, ST atrocities prevention act. As a result, the accused persons were getting station bail.
Jawahar deplored that over 60 corporations were formed for the SC, ST, BC and Minorities but not a single loan was sanctioned. The land purchasing and best available schools schemes were cancelled. Encouragement to inter-caste marriages was withdrawn. The Ambedkar ‘videshi vidya’ scheme was revoked. The SC Corporation was not giving bank linkage loans through the State Government.
The TDP leader pointed out that the study leave was cancelled. The AP Study Circle was withdrawn. The book bank scheme was cancelled. Thousands of crores of sub plan funds were diverted. The SC, ST assigned lands were confiscated. The benefits under the PM Adarsh Gram Yojana were denied. No loans were being given under the Centrally sponsored National Scheduled Castes Finance and Development Corporation.
Jawahar deplored that the Central Government programmes providing loans to the SC, STs through Standup India were stopped. No support under the National Safai Karmachari Finance and Development Corporation. The GO 77 denied scholarships to all those who did not join through convenor quota under the Jagananna Vidya Deevena and Vasathi Deevena.
The TDP leader said a retired justice was not appointed for the SC Commission. Circular 172 was issued to deprive the children of the bahujans of their educational rights. Over 11,000 acres of assigned lands were taken over in the name of 34 lakh house sites distribution. Reservation was not applied to the B and C categories of medical seats.
Jawahar said no loans were sanctioned through the new industrial policy. The welfare scheme of construction workers was cancelled. CM Jagan Reddy should tender an explanation on all these deprivations to Dalits in the Assembly.
