-Market value fixed by Jagan rule but not TDP regime
AMARAVATI: TDP national spokesman Kommareddy Pattabhi on Wednesday accused Municipal Administration Minister Botsa Satyanarayana of spreading misinformation against the previous Chandrababu regime to cover up the Rs. 1,500 Cr land scam in Madhurawada in Visakhapatnam.
Pattabhi said the committee that had recommended the abnormally low market value of the Madhurawada land was set up by the Jagan Mohan Reddy Government but not the TDP regime. This dubious committee had recommended just Rs. 187 Cr for the 97.29 acres land whose actual market value was estimated to be over Rs. 1,500 Cr.
Addressing a press conference here, the TDP leader said Botsa Satyanarayana was deliberately telling lies publicly to divert the people’s attention from the huge land scam. The final value was fixed based on GO 67 which was issued by the Jagan Reddy regime on November 26, 2021. Once again, the tainted IAS officer Sri Lakshmi was the one who issued this highly controversial order that involved Rs. 1,500 Cr land scam.
Pattabhi said Botsa himself admitted in his press conference that the land in Madhurawada would cost around Rs. 6 Cr per acre. Then he should clarify to the public why his party Government had given away 97.30 acres at just Rs. 2 Cr per acre to the NCC Vizag Urban company. Contrary to Botsa’s claims, the real market value of the Madhurawada lands was over Rs. 15 Cr per acre.
The TDP leader demanded the Minister to open his mouth on Vijay Sai Reddy snatching away this Madhurawada land from NCC through his benami Bangalore-based company called GRPL. Jagan Reddy and his coterie have thus got possession of Rs. 1,500 Cr worth land at just Rs. 200 Cr. All this fraudulent transaction took place at a lightning speed by keeping the general public in total darkness.
Pattabhi said in just two days, the Jagan Reddy Government completed the formalities of issuing GO 67, accepting payment from NCC and execution of sale deed to it. The YCP land mafia got the 97 acres land at just 10 percent of the market value. The whole scam once again brought to the fore how the corrupt Jagan Reddy rule has turned a peaceful Visakhapatnam into a hub of land grabs and scams.
The TDP leader asked why Botsa was hiding facts about GO 64 in which the Chandrababu regime in March, 2019, ordered for appointing valuers and a committee to estimate the highest saleable value of the 97 acres Madhurawada land. Botsa was just misinterpreting Naidu regime’s GO 121, which actually ordered GPA regarding exemption from stamp duty but not fixing the market value.
Pattabhi deplored that the port city became a care of address for a variety of temple and land scams. The ruling YSRCP mafia was grabbing lands of poor people, of the Government and temples. It was a shame that IAS officer Sri Lakshmi started giving her support to the YCP land grabbing mafia once again. Botsa Satyanarayana was both misleading and confusing people with his vague comments.
