Govt, police intimidating TDP women leaders: Anitha
TDP won’t spare ‘inappropriate comments’ on NTR daughter
AMARAVATI: TDP Politburo Member Vangalapudi Anitha on Friday slammed the YSRCP Government and the police for ‘targetting’ and ‘harassing’ the Telugu Desam Party women leaders as they questioned the unjust comments on NTR’s daughter.
Anitha asked whether it was a crime on the part of the TDP women leaders to register their protest against the undemocratic activities and corruption of the ruling party. Without search warrants, the police were entering the houses of the opposition women party leaders and creating terror.
Addressing a press conference here, the TDP leader deplored that the Jaganmohan Reddy regime was using the police force in a cowardly manner to suppress the voice of even the women leaders. In a very shameful manner, they were even destroying the financial strength and businesses of the TDP cadres. The DGP owed an explanation on the ongoing oppressive activities.
Anitha demanded the police to explain whether the TDP women leaders had committed any crime like suppressing evidence after eliminating ‘babai’. The intimidatory tactics would not terrify the TDP activists and they would continue their untiring fight against the injustices and atrocities. In a temple-like Assembly, the ruling party MLAs used inappropriate language against NTR’s daughter Nara Bhuvaneswari.
The TDP leader said the women cutting across all sections and all political affiliations have condemned the YCP MLAs’ derogatory comments. Unable to face the public resentment, the YSRCP regime was using the police to file false cases and make threats to the TDP women leaders. The ruling party should realise that the TDP cadres would not keep silent if their targetted former CM Chandrababu Naidu’s wife.
Anitha asserted that all sections of women were feeling increasingly insecure and unsafe ever since Jagan Reddy came to power. On the day of inauguration of Disha police station itself, a girl fell victim to molestation and her dead body was left in front of the police station itself. Instead of nabbing the culprits, the Government just washed its hands of the case by just giving Rs. 10 lakh to the family members of the deceased.
