-People vexed with Jagan’s Tughlaq rule

AMARAVATI: TDP general secretary Panchumarthy Anuradha on Tuesday demanded that the YSRCP Government reduce prices of essential commodities, petrol, diesel and gas ahead of the Sankranti festival celebrations.

Anuradha deplored that the poor people in the State were presently unable to celebrate Sankranti considering the skyrocketing prices. The YSRCP leaders were enjoying their feasts and entertainment with corruption money but not listening to the hunger pangs of the common public.

Addressing a press conference here, the TDP leader said the Chief Minister was not able to give a convincing reply even now why Anna Canteens were closed. These canteens gave

Cut prices to restore Sankranti spirit

Anuradha asserted that their party’s State-wide protests demanding relief from price rise drew great response from the public. The people were listing out their problems ever since the YSRCP came to power. Jagan Reddy invited Tamil Nadu CM for his swearing-in but not following in his footsteps. Stalin continued Amma Canteens while Jagan discontinued Anna Canteens.

The TDP leader said the ruling YSRCP leaders owed an explanation to the public why there was a huge difference in prices between the previous TDP rule and the present YSRCP rule. Price of sunflower oil rose from Rs 86 in TDP regime to Rs 145 now under YSRCP rule, groundnut oil from Rs 106 to Rs 163, red gram from Rs 74 to Rs. 170, green gram from Rs 75 to Rs. 140, and groundnut oil from Rs. 80 to Rs. 160-176.

Anuradha said that sugar price rose from Rs. 38 in TDP rule to Rs. 46-60 in YCP rule, gas from Rs. 480 to Rs. 965, tamarind from Rs. 122 to Rs. 310 and black gram from Rs. 480 to Rs. 965. How could ordinary people celebrate the festival under such rising prices?

The TDP leader deplored that even the prestigious fibernet charges were hiked from Rs. 149 in TDP rule to Rs. 350 in Jagan rule. The TDP gave sand free of cost but the YCP regime caused its rate to go up to Rs. 50,000 per truck. Moreover, the debt burden rose to Rs. 2.5 Lakh on every head. The YSRCP leaders were looting mountains and giving molehills of welfare to betray the poor people.

Anuradha said the artificial sand crisis created by CM Jagan threw over 40 lakh construction workers on the roads without work opportunities. Several of them committed suicides. AP stood as a place of hope and light under Chandrababu but it turned into a state of darkness and despair under Jagan.
