-Jagan given 151 MLAs not to tear mangala sutras: Anitha
-Countless atrocities under woman home minister
AMARAVATI: TDP Telugu Mahila state president Vangalapudi Anitha on Wednesday slammed the Jagan Mohan Reddy Government for using Disha patrolling vehicles as a gimmick to ‘divert’ the public attention from women’s problems and suffering.
Anitha said atrocities were taking place on women all over the State but the ruling party was not taking any preventive steps. How could the Chief Minister safeguard ordinary women when his regime could not protect the interests of his own sisters?
Addressing a press conference here, the TDP leader described the latest launch of Disha vehicles as nothing but a publicity stunt to cover up the Government’s failures. Over 42 persons died due to illicit liquor all over the State in the past few days. As many women lost their mangal sutras. The CM and his Ministers did not try to create any trust or confidence in them.
Anitha said it was amply proved in the past three years that there was no safety to women under the Jagan Reddy regime. One miscreant entered a house and slit the throat of a woman at Venkatagiri in Nellore district. Auto drivers molested girls in Machilipatnam parliamentary constituency and then shared the pictures on social media. No action has been initiated against such miscreants.
The TDP leader deplored that there were women deputy chief ministers and woman home minister in the Assembly but the ruling party members were not ashamed to make abusive language in the House. When a minister used an abusive word, the Chief Minister was enjoying his own sarcastic laughter instead of realising its negative impact on society.
Anitha told the YSRCP leaders that the people gave 151 MLAs not to tear the thali bottu of women. Over 27 persons died due to illicit liquor in Jangareddygudem alone but the Government did not take any steps to give them relief. The ruling party leaders were suffering a dangerous herd mentality to enjoy by inflicting pain on the innocent public.
The TDP leader said even women working in police stations also had no safety as was evident from the SI attack in West Godavari district. A CI in Elur harassed a woman in the name of downloading Disha app.
