Chief Minister Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy expressed shock over the brutal murder of Devaki, a young girl belonging to Kamdregula Kurada village in Kakinada rural Mandal by her jilted lover on Saturday.
Directing the police to punish the accused under the Disha Act, the Chief Minister said investigation should be completed and charge sheet filed within the time frame given in the Act to render justice to the victim’s family.
He also asked the officials to extend all possible support to the family of the victim.
Devaki was attacked by her dejected lover Suryanaryana who stabbed her with sharp weapons for spurning his love while she was riding a scooter. She later succumbed to injuries in hospital.
