BRS is corrupt even in the Martyrs’ Memorial

TPCC Chief President Reddy said that BRS has committed corruption even in the Martyrs’ Memorial. He spoke to the media at Gandhi Bhavan. Revanth Reddy alleged that there were large-scale irregularities in the construction work of the Martyrs’ Memorial. He alleged that the estimated cost was increased at will and KTR had a role in it. Seeing the Memorial of the Martyrs of Telangana should remind them of their struggles and sacrifices.. But KCR used the sacrifices of the martyrs for his political selfishness. He said that they are treating the history of Kalvakuntla as the history of Telangana. KCR is insulting the sacrifices of Martyrs.

1,569 people were martyred in the Telangana movement. He said that BRS is insulting those who had made sacrifices. Corruption was also alleged in the construction of the Martyrs Stupa. The government constituted an Expert Committee on June 17, 2017 regarding the construction of Martyrs Stupam. A fee of 6% shall be paid for design, estimates and inspection of works. On 28th June 2018, a tender advertisement worth Rs 63,75,35,381 was released for its construction.

He said that the same company had submitted three dummy tenders. KC Pullaiah’s company won the tender. After KC Pullaiah’s company merged with KTR, it became KPC Project Limited. The company belongs to Proddatur, Kadapa district. He said that the address of KPC company has changed to Vijayawada. Telukuntla Sridhar is a friend of KTR. Telukuntla Sridhar strategically worked with KPC project Anil Kumar Kamishetti to benefit KTR. As a result, the estimated construction cost has increased to Rs 127.50 crore. Even after that the estimated cost was increased to Rs 158.85 crores and finally the estimated cost reached Rs 179.05 crore.

He said that it is not appropriate to write only Johars for the Martyrs in the memorial which was built after spending so much money. Revanth Reddy asked why CM KCR’s name should be put on the stone engravings in the state when the names of the Martyrs are not put on the stone engravings. He said that KCR is conspiring to pollute history and Telangana society should realise this.

He said that the sacrifices of hundreds of heroes have been watered down by KCR. The Martrys’ Stupa was started with a budget of Rs. 63 crore which reached Rs 179.05 crore. Revanth Reddy said that the people of Telangana need to protest on this.

“Martyrs’ Stupa should represent the history of Telangana’s Martyrs. One Srikantachari, Ishan Reddy, Constable Kishtaiah…hundreds of Martyrs should be remembered. The sacred memorial of the martyrs was desecrated by giving it to Andhra contractors. How can you handover the construction of the Stupa which should stand in the history to the people of Andhra? Isn’t this a mockery of Telangana society?

The Memorial of the Martyrs is as sacred as the temple, mosque and church. When the work of Pragati Bhavan built on ten acres was completed in nine months….will it take nine years to build the Martyrs Stupa…?” Revanth Reddy criticized. He questioned whether KCR cant see KTR taking commission in the construction of the martyrs’ memorial.

“There are many defects in the construction of Martyrs Stupa. The quality was not maintained even for the stainless steel. Would you have done this, if you really have respect for the martyrs. Stainless steel was used in elevation. 4mm thin stainless steel. There are gaps between the sheets. Stupas built by common people in the forests are intact. The stainless steel used in the Martyr’s Memorial in the heart of the city was proposed to be 8 mm but 4 mm was used.

With this, when you go near the stupa, you can see dents and steel sheets are joined together. The cause of all this corruption is KTR and his friend Sridhar. They have used the Memorial of the Martyrs for their exploitation,” said Revanth Reddy, lashing out at the government.

“Minister Prashanth Reddy told the media that they did not say anywhere that 1200 people died in the Telangana movement, they do not know where that number came from. On June 14, 2014, KCR introduced a resolution in the assembly meetings. KCR told the full house that 1560 people were martyred in the first and final phase of the movement. All the political parties unanimously accepted the resolution of the government that day.

Revanth Reddy criticized that the ministers are talking about this issue in utter disregard for the resolution. Only more than 500 Martyrs have received help, for the rest they are making excuses that their addresses are not found, Revanth criticised. It is a shame to say that the address is not available in such a big system. Revanth Reddy criticized the KCR government saying that even after nine years, the government could not find the details of the Martyrs.

He said that the Congress government will be formed in Telangana by December 9. Revanth Reddy commented that when the Congress comes to power, the names of 1,569 Martyrs will be included in the epitaph. Arrangements will be made in such a way that the people will be able to go to Martyrs’ Stupa only after going through the details. “We will recognize the families of the martyrs neglected by KCR and honor them. Rs. 25 thousand per month will be provided as pension. We will give recognition to them as Telangana Sadhana Yodhulu.

On December 9, 2009, the then UPA government made a statement on the formation of a separate state of Telangana. On December 9 2023, Congress will be in power in Telangana. On the same 9th December, 1569 families will be invited and have meals with the members of Sonia Gandhi’s family. KCR should immediately identify and support the rest of the Martyrs. Otherwise, KCR will remain a villain in history,” said Revanth Reddy.

The Ambedkar statue construction was also given to the Pullaiah company. Revanth Reddy said that investigation will be conducted by Vigilance on the Ambedkar statue, Martyrs Memorial and Secretariat structures and those involved in corruption will be sent to Charlapalli Jail. Revanth Reddy said that arresting the Congress leaders who are protesting against Dasabdi Daga is cruel and that CM KCR wants to run the kingdom with the police. House arrest of Shabbir Ali, who was going to send Hajj pilgrims, was wicked.

Revanth Reddy ridiculed that I can understand Bandi Sanjay’s state of mind, Bandi Sanjay is talking like KA Paul. His words should not be taken seriously. Revanth Reddy commented that his words cannot be taken seriously except to express sympathy.
