-Chandrababu Naidu carries coffin of TDP slain leader
-Decries Jagan Reddy rule’s ‘criminal bent of mind’
-Tens of TDP leaders killed in Palnadu region
GUNDLAPADU (Guntur district): TDP National President and former Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu accused the Jaganmohan Reddy Government of using its ‘criminal bent of mind’ to terrify and silence all questioning voices and the opposition leaders.
Naidu took part in the last rites of the slain TDP leader Thota Chandraiah at Gundlapadu village in Macherla assembly constituency of Guntur district. Amidst an emotionally charged
atmosphere and large gathering of party workers, the TDP chief paid his last respects to the mortal remains of Chandraiah.
Along with the other party leaders, Chandrababu Naidu took part in the last journey of the slain Chandraiah and also gave his shoulder in the funeral procession of the mortal
remains. Seeing Naidu personally taking part in the funeral procession, the TDP leaders got emotional and gave out full-throated slogans.
Speaking on the occasion, Chandrababu Naidu said the killing of Thota Chandraiah once again exposed the murder politics of the ruling YSRCP in Andhra Pradesh. Tens of TDP
leaders have been killed in the past three years in Palnadu region of Guntur district. The ruling party was resorting to attacks and murders only out of frustration over rising public resentment against Jagan Reddy rule.
Naidu recalled how the YSRCP goondas made a murder attempt on TDP leaders Bonda Uma and Buddha Venkanna when they visited Macherla during the local body elections. Had the
police taken strong action at that time itself, the situation would not have deteriorated to this extent now.
The TDP chief said Jaganmohan Reddy was acting ruthlessly and he was only exposing his culture of murder politics by giving higher positions to those involoved in killings and crimes. The TDP would stand by the side of the family of Chandraiah who was killed by the YSRCP goondas.
Naidu said late Chandraiah wanted to invite him for the unveiling of NTR statue but now the tragedy has taken place. The Chief Minister should speak on this murder if he had any courage. Macherla was not a jagir of YCP MLA Pinnelli Ramakrishna Reddy. The person, who attacked Bonda Uma and Venkanna, was made municipal chairman.
The TDP chief demanded an explanation from the CM and the DGP on Chandraiah murder. Over 33 TDP leaders were murdered till now. Everybody would have to face punishment. Former Speaker Kodela Sivaprasada Rao took his own life, unable to bear harassment of Jagan rule.
Chandrababu Naidu said the people gave a mandate to Jagan but not a license to kill. The CM’s plan was to remove all opposition in at least 20 assembly constituencies. The TDP would give Rs. 25 lakh assistance to Chandraiah’s family. The TDP would come to power when Pennelli would not be seen around in this area.
