Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy has met Union Minister of Road Transport and Highways Nitin Gadkari. CM thanked him for sanctioning various National Highway projects to the State.
During meeting with the Union Transport Minister, the CM held discussion on preparation of DPR for National Highway from Visakhapatnam Port to Bhogapuram via Rushikonda and Bheemili.
He said the proposed road is very useful for Visakhapatnam and it will be of short distance from Visakhapatnam port to Odisha and Chhattisgarh. He added that it will go close to the beach corridor projects along the coast.
Said this highway would contribute to the development of tourism in the region. And would also reach Bhogapuram International Airport easily. He has sought for six lane highway considering traffic congestion in Vishakhapatnam.
CM requested to consider previous appeal to grant bypass road on the eastern side of Vijayawada. The land acquisition will be completed as soon as possible. He assures exemption on SGST and Royalty to reduce the cost of the project. Also urged to take up the project as soon as possible.
CM requested to extend the 4lane road in Bapatla as a part of construction of NH-16 of Kathipudi–Ongole Corridor as there is a possibility of traffic jams again due to educational institutions, tourists and the air base.
