Former CM of Himachal Pradesh Jairam Thakur
HYDERABAD
Former Chief Minister and leader of Opposition in Himachal Pradesh Jairam Thakur said that the Congress party has cheated the people of the state in implementing the promises it had made during the elections.
“Congress leaders during the election campaign here are claiming that the party has filled several of election promises to the people of Himachal Pradesh. The fact is that it has totally failed in the last one year in fulfilling the 10 promises. Same was the condition in Mahdya Pradesh and Rajasthan as well,” said Jairam Thakur while speaking to reporters here on Thursday.
“Congress in Himachal Pradesh has assured Rs. 1,500 every month for women who crossed 18 years. Not even a single woman received it. Ours is a power surplus state. It has promised 300 units for every house but tariff has been increased. Congress promised old pension scheme but there was no step in that direction so far. Still New pension scheme is continuing. Congress can tell lies and run Government do not trust it and fell in its trap,” said Jairam Thakur.
Coming down heavily against the BRS Government the Union Minister said that it was time to tell a lesson to the government being run by Father, Son, Daughter and Son In Law. “All the departments were inflicted with corruption and Kaleshwaram was the biggest corruption. BRS has made several promises but failed to implement them. People are feeling that BRS not only need to be defeated but its leaders involved in corruption must be punished,” he said urging people to vote for double engine government in Telangana.
