AMARAVATI: TDP National President and former Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu on Tuesday expressed surprise over clean chit reportedly given by IT to CM Jaganmohan Reddy’s family media in getting investments disproportionate to their known track record.

Naidu said it would set a wrong precedent for all politicians if IT would not consider as corruption the Rs 1,200 Cr investment in Sakshi without its promoters putting a single rupee in it. Everybody would take Jagan Reddy as a role model and they would start boosting up flow of funds into their illegal firms by selling Rs 10 per share at Rs. 3,000 to Rs. 5,000.

Speaking to mediapersons after inaugurating TDP’s e-paper ‘Chaitanya Radham’ here, the TDP chief said the Central Government should take a closer look and analyse the problem of growing political corruption. Otherwise, nobody would practise honesty in politics any longer.

Naidu asserted that there should be amendments in the existing acts in order to ensure coordination among the IT, CBI, ED and other institutions. The IT should not take up issue
Coordination-needed-among-IT-CBI-ED-etc in isolation. If anybody would pay IT for drug money, would it be okay? A bigger danger to the country’s political fabric would arise if immediate remedial measures would not be taken. How can anybody acquire illegal money and then regularise it?

Naidu deplored that over 250 illegal granite companies came up in the Kuppam assembly segment in the past three years. Such problems never arose during the 22 years of TDP ruling previously. Digital payments were not being accepted in the Government liquor shops. Only cash and carry method was being followed so that the ruling party could amass corruption money.

The TDP chief said Jagan Reddy was only concerned about his family businesses but not about the well being of any section of the people. All 5 crore people of AP were facing some problem or other. Contractors invested tens of crores and built up their companies over 20 to 30 years. They all turned into non performing assets because of the Government’s policies.

Chandrababu Naidu asked why the CM allowed Bharati Cements to hike price by Rs. 30 to Rs. 40 once again. The previous TDP rule controlled the cement cartel and made them to ensure moderate prices by threatening to hike their current and limestone charges.

Naidu said the Jagan Reddy family was only using their media to spread falsehoods, demotivate constitutional institutions and abet the YSRCP corruption. Jagan Reddy’s betrayals had destroyed the positive brand image that AP had acquired in the past. Of the Rs 16 lakh cr MoUs, only Rs 5 lakh cr worth companies materialised. All others left AP and said they would never set their foot on AP soil again. Such was the harassment meted out to them.

The TDP chief slammed the Jagan regime for bringing GO 2430 only to terrorise and make the media surrender to his party line. On its part, the TDP would continue its uncompromising fight. The TDP ‘Chaitanya Radham’ e-paper would serve as an effective media to expose the YSRCP misdeeds from village to district to State level. In just one click, the e-paper would reach all 70 lakh party members every morning.
