-Govt employees strike will harm people: Ashok Babu
-Sajjala, CS talking irresponsibly on talks
AMARAVATI: TDP MLC Paruchuri Ashok Babu on Friday cautioned that the people of the State would suffer heavy losses if the Government employees would go on strike against the new PRC.
Ashok Babu said that this was the first time in the entire country on the part of the Government employees’ associations to launch such a massive agitation. The Government should not act irresponsibly and it should reopen meaningful talks with the employees.
Addressing a press conference here, the TDP MLC termed it wrong that Advisor Sajjala Ramakrishna Reddy was describing talks as a closed chapter. Even the Chief Secretary was not taking the initiative to resolve the stalemate in a smooth manner.
Ashok Babu said yesterday’s massive protest of the AP Government employees was the first of its kind in the country’s history. It indicated the beginning of the end of the Jagan Mohan Reddy Government. Even though the employees were intensifying their agitation, the Government and the senior most officials were behaving in an irresponsible manner.
The TDP MLC urged the CS and the Finance Secretary to pave the way for reopening talks rather than making hurtful comments. The officials of All India Services should consider how the State Government would get lesser benefits when compared with the Central pay structure.
Ashok Babu said the manner in which the Chief Secretary was talking gave rise to doubts whether the fault was with the Chief Minister or the officials. It was the duty of the CS in his capacity as the Chairman of Joint Staff Council to call for talks when the employees gave strike notice.
Criticising the Government’s ‘negligent’ attitude, Ashok Babu asserted that in his capacity as the constitutional head of the State, the Governor should interfere and take corrective measures. The IAS officers were not correct when they said that the employees were getting higher salaries than they deserved.
The TDP MLC slammed the Government for launching a misinformation campaign to portray the employees as having no social responsibility. AP stood ahead of Telangana in development previously only because the employees helped in implementing the vision of Chandrababu Naidu efficiently.
