-Give seats only to the BRS sitting candidates
-We are prepared for a discussion on 24 hours free electricity near substations
-We will not ask for votes in substations where 24 hours electricity is provided
-BRS should not ask for votes in substations where 24 hour electricity is not given given
-Is BRS ready for this challenge?
-TPCC President Revanth Reddy
“BRS leaders and ministers have ruled wonderfully for nine years. They claim that they have done more than what they have committed. If the same is true now 104 sitting MLAs should be given seats. If KCR has the courage, he should contest from Gajwel. Otherwise, KCR will have to admit that he is inefficient,’ TPCC President Revanth Reddy countered the BRS leaders. Revanth Reddy spoke to the media at Gandhi Bhavan on Saturday.
Revanth commented that the survey report revealed that 80 percent of the 104 sitting MLAs will lose. Revanth said that surveys have shown that CM KCR will also lose in Gajwel. That is why KCR is looking for other constituencies, said Revanth. Why is KCR not saying that he will give tickets only for the current sitting candidates in BRS..? Revanth asked.
He ridiculed that there is a fear of defeat in the cries of BRS leaders about free electricity. He said that giving free electricity to farmers is the patent of the Congress party. Responding to the accusations made by Minister Harish Rao, Legislative Council Chairman Guttasukhender Reddy and others against the Congress party, Revanth said that there is no basis in the arguments of BRS public representatives.
Revanth Reddy reminded that before any party in the country thought about it, the Congress party provided free electricity to the farmers. Revanth Reddy gave a strong counter to the demand of BRS leaders and ministers for referendum on free electricity. “There are 3500 sub stations in Telangana state. Our MP Komati Reddy Venkat Reddy showed the log books and proved that there is no 24 hours electricity. Let’s conduct gram sabhas and rachchabanda near every substation. Let’s have a discussion with the farmers.
If 24 hours free electricity is given as the BRS leaders claim, the Congress Party will not ask for votes in the limits of that substation. BRS party should not ask for votes within the limits of the substation where 24 hours free electricity is not provided. Are you ready for this? We are prepared to go anywhere on this matter. If you are ready for the challenge, Sampath in Alampur, Chinna Reddy in Vanaparthi, me in Kodangal, Mallu Ravi in Nagar Kurnool Parliamentary Constituency will participate’, challenged Revanth Reddy.
Revanth Reddy accused the BRS government of trying to say that free electricity is not the patent of the Congress Party. He recalled that in 1999, when YSR was the PCC President, the issue of free electricity was included in the election manifesto. Since the Party did not come to power in 1999, we could not give free electricity. The TDP Party which came to power at that time increased the electricity charges. The Congress Party and the Communists fought together on this.
Criminal cases were filed against 25,000 farmers in that movement. Three farmers were killed in Bashir Bagh firing during the Chalo Assembly agitation which was undertaken on the occasion of that movement. Many farmers were seriously injured.
KCR was the Chairman of TDP HRD department during Chandrababu’s regime. HRD is the policy making wing of the party. The policies formulated by that department are then implemented in the government. Then Pocharam was the minister.. Gutta was in a key position.. All of them drafted the electricity policy along with Chandrababu Naidu. Revanth Reddy questioned them on behalf of the Congress Party: are you not responsible for the Bashirbagh firing by virtue of enjoying power at that time?
On August 28, 2000, the Bashir Bagh firing took place. KCR was Deputy Speaker at that time. On 21st April 2001, KCR resigned from TDP. Isn’t it true that KCR who wanted the minister position was ready to carry Chandrababu’s chappal? Chandrababu did not give an appointment to KCR even after 9 months. Revanth Reddy commented that Tummala, Mandava, Bojjala, Vemuri Radhakrishna, Somireddy Chandramohan Reddy are eyewitnesses to this.
“KCR started the TRS party with the one crore rupees given by Bojjala Gopalakrishna Reddy. TRS flexi and membership books were printed with the money given by Bojjala. KCR started the TRS party with Andhra people’s money. There are many more witnesses to history. I joined TDP in 2007… Bashir Bagh shooting happened in 2000. How can Harish say that I am the cause of the firing on that day? And even before Harish Rao won as a ward member, the Congress made him a minister.
KCR, who claimed to have resigned for the sake of Telangana…why did he again strike an alliance with Chandrababu in 2009? You are parasites…with TDP on one side and Congress on the other side you have survived. You have the cheap culture of criticising the same parties on which you have survived’, Revanth Reddy lashed out at BRS leaders.
BRS did not provide 24 hours electricity. You have given the 9 hours of free current that we have given in instalments till 2018. In the 2018 BRS manifesto, you proposed to set up power plants near the Singareni coal mines. But the power plant was shifted to Yadadri which does not have any coal mines. The most corrupt people are KCR’s advisers.
From which party did the ministers you have come from? Revanth Reddy criticised that Harish should be ashamed to say that KCR who has the history of filing cases against Telangana intellectuals to be Satya Harishchandra. “Speaker and Council Chairmen have grown in age but their intelligence has not increased. Gutta and Pocharam in the posts of Speaker and Chairman should be above politics. But like direct political leaders, they are criticising the opposition parties and licking KCR’s shoes.
Pocharam’s sons are engaged in every business from gravel to sand. For the sake of the sons, Pocharam is behaving in such a degraded manner. Congress has made Gutta Sukhender Reddy, who is useless even for Panchayat, into an MP twice. Hoping for a ministerial seat, Gutta joined BRS. Now Gutta is behaving badly with an expectation of an assembly ticket from Nalgonda for his son. I
n Nalgonda, our Komatireddy has taught Gutta a tough lesson. Pocharam and Gutta should be banished from the peasant caste. Being in positions of responsibility, they talk about politics. He said that they have betrayed the parties, they have deceived the trusted leaders and now they are also betraying the people. Will you stoop so low for your sons? Revanth Reddy demanded that the Governor should immediately dismiss them from their positions.
Revanth Reddy gave a strong counter to the accusations of BRS leaders that why 24 hours electricity is not being provided in Chattisgarh where there is surplus electricity. “It was announced that Rs 10 lakh will be given to the house in Chintamadaka where KCR was born. Why was it not announced to other parts of the state? Why is the same thing not applied to Kondareddypalli? Priorities vary from state to state,” said Revanth Reddy, lashing out at the BRS leaders. He said that Electricity Files will be released soon on corruption and irregularities in electricity purchases.
I have been in the opposition for 20 years and have been fighting for the people. Even when I joined the TDP, I was in the opposition. Even in the Congress party, even in the opposition. Revanth Reddy commented that I have a history of fighting for the people with self-respect.
