-CM betraying women with ‘welfare biscuits’: Anitha
-Liquor income became main source of AP revenue

AMARAVATI: TDP Telugu Mahila state president Vangalapudi Anitha on Tuesday accused the Jagan Reddy Government of betraying women by not fulfilling his election promise on liquor prohibition in Andhra Pradesh.

Anitha said that the Chief Minister spoke one word during the elections and started speaking another word after coming to power. Jagan Reddy was bent on tearing apart the mangalsutra of women with his countless conspiracies.

Addressing a press conference here, the TDP leader termed it as unpardonable that the CM had made liquor income as the main source of his Government revenue. For increasing liquor income, Jagan Reddy was offering little bits of welfare benefits as biscuits to cheat the poorer sections.

Anitha said that everybody expected Jagan to announce total prohibition on the birthday of Mahatma Gandhi. But, the CM began his new policy to squeeze the drinkers for more liquor income. When liquor drinkers were dying with their families thrown on the roads, the YCP rulers were looking for more liquor income.

The TDP leader pointed out that the Government gave front page advertisements in Sakshi for publicity on Amma Vodi. But, it was published in the same paper in an insignificant column that there were no toxic residues in cheap liquor brands being sold in Government liquor shops.

Anitha said that Jagan Reddy had such a dark history that his regime put teachers as supervisors at liquor shops. The poor drinkers were forced to take fatal and toxic liquor brands so as to enable the YCP leaders to fill their pockets. They were playing dangerous games with the lives of poor people.

The TDP leader expressed concern over the attitude of CM Jagan who was only bothering about his family but not about the crores of suffering people. The YCP rule brought new brands of harmful liquor but not new companies and new jobs.
