-Resentment against Jagan rule historic
-Anti-Govt feelings stronger than in 1994
-TDP won highest number of seats in 1994 polls
-Mahanadu will be held in Ongole
AMARAVATI: TDP National President and former Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu on Tuesday said that the kind of public resentment presently faced by the YSRCP Government was never seen before in the history of any State.
Naidu said this sort of anti-Government sentiment was not there in the 1994 elections also when the then opposition TDP won the highest number of seats.
In a chit chat with the media at the party central office, the TDP chief said the Jagan Mohan Reddy Government had crushed the living standards of the people as a whole with its wrong policies. It was Jagan Reddy’s looting but not the YCP welfare policies that destroyed the State economy in just three years.
Naidu deplored that the Chief Minister shut down all sources of income for the public treasury while increasing his personal wealth through massive corruption. There was open looting in the liquor policy. Sand and mining were steeped in total fraud. The burden of this plunder was falling on the people eventually in the form of increased taxes.
Chandrababu Naidu asserted that not a single farmer would vote for the YSRCP in the next elections. It gave just Rs. 7,000 per year and totally neglected all their other needs during cultivation. The general public have realised the looting inherent in Jagan programmes. They have realised how much they had lost in their lives because of the ongoing misrule.
The TDP chief said there should be no scope for community based hatred in politics. Targetting select groups was not seen before. The Jagan regime has targetted one community out of enemity towards Pawan Kalyan. It victimised another community out of hatred towards Raghurama Raju and targetted one more community out of rivalry towards the TDP.
Naidu said that Jagan Mohan Reddy was living under a strange frustration that he would never win elections in future if he would lose the next polls. Out of this frustruation only, Jagan Reddy has changed his choice of language. The CM has exposed his weakness in the recent Cabinet reshuffle as well.
Chandrababu Naidu pointed out that nearly half of the Cabinet Ministers were continued out of political pressures and compulsions. As a result, revolts within the YSRCP have erupted. No other Chief Minister in the State’s history faced the pitiable situation of pleading with the disgruntled aspirants after the reshuffle.
The TDP chief said this year’s Mahanadu annual conclave would be held in Ongole. The TDP Badude Badudu protests against price rise and current charges would continue till Mahanadu.
