In the guise of Indo-Solar Power plant, the Chief Minister, Mr Jagan Mohan Reddy, is planning to illegally occupy 4,827 acres of land near Ramayapatnam Port, said the TDP politburo member and former minister, Mr Somireddy Chandramohan Reddy here on Tuesday.
Talking to media persons through zoom, Mr Somireddy Chandramohan Reddy said that Mr Jagan prepared the ground to grab the land in the name of his close associate. Can a company which was launched just 11 months ago with a mere Rs 1 lakh investment build solar panels with Rs 33,000 cr, Mr Somireddy Chandramohan Reddy asked.
How dare the company which has the close relations of the YSRCP MP, Mr Vijayasai Reddy, is attempting to forcibly grab the lands from the poor. The directors of the company are Mr Sarath Chandra Reddy, Mr Visweswar Reddy and other person, who are all closely related to Mr Vijayasai Reddy, he said.
Though the Andhra Pradesh High Court adjourned the case with regard to land acquisition to February 6, how these persons forcibly occupy the land, Mr Somireddy asked. Is it the main aim of the rulers to grab lands of the farmers at Chevuru, Ravuru, Yeluripadu and Samalapet of Gudlur mandal in Nellore district in the guise of industrialists, he questioned.
When the Government held grama sabhas in November and December on acquiring lands for the Indo-Solar organisation, the villagers totally and unanimously opposed the move, he pointed out. They questioned the officials attended the grama sabhas and even submitted memoranda to the Deputy Collector, Mr Somireddy said, adding that as they moved the High Court, the case is posted to February 6 for hearing.
When the case is pending before the High Court, the State Government issued a fresh GO for the land acquisition, he said. As the registration value of the land is Rs 18.7 lakh per acre, the Government is offering Rs 21.7 lakh while the market value is anywhere between Rs 25 lakh to Rs 30 lakh per acre but the officials are forcing the owners to hand it over, the TDP politburo member said.
If the Ramayapatnam port works begin the market value of the land may be between Rs 50 lakh to rs 1 cr per acre but the officials are sending strong messages to the land owners that “Whether you agree or not the lands having an extent of 4,827 acres will be acquired and the amount will be deposited with your accounts,” Mr Somireddy stated.
Why the State Government is in a hurry to hand over such valuable land to one Mr Visweswar Reddy, he asked. The financial condition of Mr Visweswar Reddy is very poor as he was a mechanic of transformers in Kadapa district, he said.
It is ridiculous that such a person establishing solar panels with an investment of Rs 33,000 cr, Mr Somireddy Chandramohan Reddy said and felt that it is nothing but a scam running into thousands of crores. The TDP politburo member said that the TDP will stand by the farmers and the party is ready to fight till justice is done to the affected farmers.
