AMARAVATI: TDP former Minister Alapati Rajendra Prasad on Saturday slammed the Jagan Mohan Reddy Government for ‘breaking the backs’ of farmers with its atrocious policies.
Rajendra Prasad said that the discrepancies in e-crop enrollment were causing severe losses to the farmers. Each farmer was being robbed of Rs. 400 per quintal in the name of coolie, gunny bags and transportation charges.
Addressing a press conference here, the TDP leader said Chief Minister Jagan Mohan Reddy never held a review meeting to alert officials ahead of agriculture seasons. But the CM was not hesitating to make huge false claims that his Government was patronising the farmers.
Rajendra Prasad deplored that the so-called Rythu Bharosa Kendras were doing more harm than good. Usually, farmers would suffer losses because of natural calamities and cyclones. For the first time in history, the farmers were undergoing great suffering because of one single person’s policies in his capacity as the Chief Minister.
The TDP leader pointed out that a ruling YSRCP MP himself had narrated how looting was going on in paddy purchase and procurement. The ruling YSRCP leaders were crossing all limits in corruption and irregularities. Forty percent of e-crop survey number details were faulty. In many places, there were no proper survey numbers.
Rajendra Prasad accused the Government of making wrong claims on the ‘Sunna Vaddi’ programme. Can the Chief Minister give a list of farmers to whom zero interest loans were given in the past three years? The farmers were subjected to all round injustice under the YSRCP regime.
The TDP leader demanded that the CM should give details of crop compensation given to the farmers who suffered losses eight times. The Jagan regime was doing nothing except giving multi-crore advertisements in the media for cheap publicity.Rajendra Prasad termed it as unfortunate that the YCP Government was not giving any guidance on what sort of crops should be cultivated and to which extent.
