Naidu to DGP: Register murder case, begin probe
Lineman Bangarraju brutally murdered
Probe involvement of YCP leaders
Peaceful Vizag turned into a crime city
AMARAVATI: TDP National President and former Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu on Saturday urged the AP DGP to order a detailed probe into the brutal murder of electricity department lineman Bangarraju in Visakhapatnam district.
In a letter to the DGP here, Naidu demanded that a murder case should be booked immediately in order to hold a thorough investigation. The slain body of Bangarraju was found next to a guest house in Yenugulapalem in Padmanabham mandal. The guest house belongs to one Lakshmana Rao, who was a nephew of Minister Botsa Satyanarayana.
Naidu told the DGP that it was alarming that the post mortem was not conducted till now though Bangarraju’s body was found some four to five days ago. Nandini, the wife of the slain lineman, was wailing inconsolably over the ghastly murder of her husband. The future of their children was jeopardised because of the sudden tragic loss of their family breadwinner.
The TDP chief said that Visakhapatnam was once known for its peace loving citizens and places of tranquility. But, it has turned into a crime city. The people would have trust in the law and order in Vizag only if the police would nab the culprits responsible for the murder of Bangarraju.
Naidu pointed out that there was a general feeling among the public that the police were largely complacent because the ruling YSRCP leaders were involved in the Bangarraju murder. Hence, a murder case should be filed immediately to begin the investigation. Justice should be ensure to the Nandini family, who were facing severe hardships following the murder of her husband.
