KCR was the one who made Telugu Desam say that it is not possible to give free electricity

-KCR is the reason behind Bashir Bagh firing
-KCR is going to fit meters to the motors in near future
-TPCC President Revanth Reddy

TPCC president Revanth commented that “Congress announced the issue of free electricity in the 2004 Election Manifesto. Chandrasekhar Rao is the person who made Telugu Desam say that it is not possible to provide free electricity, KCR is responsible for killing the farmers in the electricity movement on that day”, Revanth commented. Revanth Reddy spoke to the media on Thursday.

He was angry about the scathing attack on him from several quarters. During the Meet and Greet Program in America, some experts asked questions about Telangana government’s policies… He said that he explained clearly the policies of the Congress party. He alleged that a part of his answer was cut and propagated. He expressed his anger that the IT minister tried to be oversmart thereby reducing the entire matter to a farce. It is good to have a discussion on free electricity once again, he said.

If KTR comes, both will not compete in agriculture. “The patent for free electricity belongs to the Congress party. I have been in farming and I know a lot about agriculture as I have ploughed the land. Like KTR, I did not clean washrooms in America. I am not the son of a Passport broker. I am not the son of a broker,” said Revanth Reddy.

He recalled that KCR was a key player in the Telugu Desam party during the Bashir Bagh firings. He said that the leadership of the Congress Party observed the conditions of the farmers and promised free electricity as well as all the cases registered against the farmers to be withdrawn. He said that YS Rajasekhar Reddy was elected as the CM in the subsequent elections. He said that Y S R signed the free electricity file during the swearing in ceremony. He clarified that the history of providing quality electricity along with free electricity belongs to the Congress party.

The KCR government says that they are spending 16,000 crore rupees for free electricity for farmers. In reality, they are giving electricity for only 8 hours to the small and marginal farmers. In areas where the BRS MLAs and leaders’ farms and lands are located, free electricity is supplied for 10 to 12 hours, he said. He challenged the BRS party to be ready for discussion on free electricity. It was the Congress which brought the free electricity scheme, he said. He said that the Congress supported the farmers in every way and made agriculture a festival. It is because of Congress that there is electricity in Telangana today.

Revanth Reddy questioned how they are spending Rs 16,000 crores when there is no free electricity supply for more than 12 hours anywhere in the state of Telangana.

Revanth Reddy criticized CM KCR for extorting half of the funds allocated under the budget in the name of free electricity, i.e, Rs 8,000 crore per year. Actually, KCR is committing extortion in the name of 24 hours electricity. He alleged that Telangana is buying electricity at an exorbitant rate without listening to the Centre’s advice.

Along with free electricity, many agricultural implements were provided at a subsidized rate. After the partition of the state, the Congress leadership took precautions to avoid loss in the matter of electricity. Sonia Gandhi took steps to get more electricity to Telangana based on consumption. If distributed on the basis of population, Telangana would get only 38 % of electricity. As the then CM Kiran Kumar Reddy said, darkness would descend in Telangana. As a result, electricity was allocated on the basis of consumption and not on the basis of population. Because of this, Telangana has been allocated 53 % and AP got 47 %. Revanth Reddy made it clear that then Union Minister Jaipal Reddy and Congress leaders worked hard for this.

At that time, KCR boasted that Bhadradri and Yadadri power generation plants were being set up. He said that the KCR government did not pay attention to the then Central Power Minister Piyush Goel’s statement that power plants would be given at 2.60 paise.

Discoms which had A plus grade under Congress rule, fell to C minus under KCR rule.

The Discoms which were in the top ten positions during the Congress regime… fell to the last ten positions during the KCR regime. Congress has doubts about giving 24 hours free electricity. Revanth Reddy said that once the Congress comes to power, we will definitely provide 24 hour free electricity to the farmers. We will announce in our Manifesto on September 17.. Rs 8,000 crore are being looted every year in the guise of free electricity.

In the case of power plants, KCR gave tenders worth Rs 45,000 crores and was involved in corruption. People will cancel the KCR government which has been cheating people by looting, Revanth Reddy said.

“The authorities have given orders to surrender the lock books of all the sub stations. I am directly asking KTR and Harish… Accept the challenge given by Komati Reddy and Jeevan Reddy on 24-hour free electricity supply,” Revanth Reddy challenged. The BRS cadre is attacking us because you are afraid that the truth will come out, he criticised.

“He is saying that he will hang me in Karimnagar chowrastha..’
They say that I am a disciple of Chandrababu.
Then where did KCR come from?
“You who carried chappal for Chandra Babu don’t have a right to talk about me’, he ridiculed.

The state government is going to fix meters for 27.5 lakh motors. Who among you will come to say that this is not true?” He challenged the BRS leaders. If we start our election campaign with Khammam Sabha on July 2… BRS started its election campaign with protests yesterday.

“Once again, it has become clear from the protests and dharnas of the BRS party that the Congress is their opponent and opposition, Revanth made it clear. He revealed the sensational fact that the survey report showed that out of 104 sitting MLAs, 80 percent of the MLAs are going to lose. Moreover, Revanth said that the surveys also showed that CM KCR will also lose in Gajwel. Revanth said that is why they are looking for other constituencies. Why is KCR not saying that he will give tickets only for the current sittings in BRS? Revanth asked.

He asked why Laxman, who had earlier demanded a CBI inquiry on 24-hour electricity, is now silent. Why is it that Modi and Amit Shah who alleged that Kaleswaram has become like an ATM for KCR have not ordered an inquiry into the corruption in this project, he questioned.
