BRS govt hatched conspiracy to deprive poor of their lands
State unleashing violence and terror silently against poor
Cong Party to support poor’s fight to take back their lands: Bhatti
Congress Legislature Party leader Bhatti Vikramarka has said its time to bring down KCR government that is devouring lands of the poor
Addressing a media conference at Badangpet in Maheswaram constituency on Tuesday, the CLP leader said that BRS government has been systematically grabbing the lands given to the poor by the previous Congress governments.
The BRS party which came to power by dangling the promise of e double bed room houses, three acres of land to the poor and downtrodden not only failed to keep its election promises but also had been forcefully seizing the lands distributed to the poor by the previous governments, Mr.Bhatti said. A dreadful situation was prevailing where the BRS government was unleashing State violence to oppress the weaker sections.
If people questioned the injustice, they were being slapped with cases. If any one confronted the government on wrong doings, they were being arrested. The houses constructed by the poor in the sites given to them by earlier governments with full rights were being demolished. People were subjected to State violence and terror in the heart of the State capital, he alleged.
In the Telangana State achieved by people with their united movement, the BRS government was resorting to State violence silently and stealthily, Mr.Bhatti said.
Earlier civil society organisations, people’s organisations and political parties with social responsibility used to lend support to poor and weaker sections against State violence and injustice. He deplored that no one was raising their voice even when the lands of the poor were being snatched away from them.
Declaring that the BRS government has no right to take away lands given to poor by the previous governments, Mr.Bhatti said that the action exposed the evil intention of the government to not let people live with dignity and hope in the State.
Mr.Bhatti called upon the intellectuals that the time has come to raise their voice against the abuse of human rights and State violence. The KCR government had usurped about 10,000 acres of land worth Rs.5 lakh crore in Ibrahimpatnam constituency alone. It also took away lands of poor around Hyderabad worth Rs.25 lakh crores. “ This is the biggest conspiracy being perpetrated against the poor,” the Congress leader alleged. The lands seized from the poor were given to the companies of the rich individuals, companies and for auction in the form HMDA layouts.
None has the right to take away the lands distributed to the poor by the previous governments as part of their policies, Mr.Bhatti asserted and said that with the onset of South West monsoon in June, poor should be ready to plough their lands. Be ready to construct houses in the sites given to you by the previous governments. “ We will see who will come in the way and Congress Party will stand by you,” Mr.Bhatti thundered.
He categorically condemned the BRS government for taking back lands given to 4,000 poor people by the previous Congress government in Badangpet, Nadargul, Almasguda, Mamidipalli in Maheswaram constituency.
He deplored the State government for not allotting 4,000 houses constructed by the previous government in Jillalaguda, Mirpet, Kurumalguda. The BRS government kept the houses under its control for the last nine years even while the poor were waiting desperately.
There could not be greater crime than the BRS government trampling on the rights of people in their own State achieved with people’s struggle. If the State government did not distribute 4,000 houses constructed by the Congress government to the poor in Kurumalaguda, the Congress party itself would accompany the poor to enter their houses.
Mr.Bhatti said that in Maheswaram mandal, the BRS government not only had taken back 500 acres of land from people for the Pharma city and but also kept another 400 acres in the buffer zone. Who gave the right to this government to take away 1,000 acres given to the poor?, he questioned. People would be allowed to till the lands taken away forcefully by the government.
The lands that were not suitable for agriculture would be allotted to poor to take up various trades under self-employment. Poor should protect their lands from encroachments till the Congress party formed government in 2023-24 . The official machinery, courts of law, media, political parties with social responsibility should back people protesting against the exploitation by the State, he urged.
Balladeer Gaddar said that Chief Minister KCR had brought Dharani system into vogue to deprive SC, ST , BC and downtrodden sections of the lands which they were protecting for the last 200 years. KCR rule in the State became synonymous with “ demolish constructions, collect commissions to buy votes in the elections and capture power”. The time has come to usher in revolution in the State with ballot, he said and exhorted Congress cadres to go to every door step and explain to people the exploitation and anti-people policies of the State government to create awareness and mobilise their votes to unseat KCR government, he said.
Mr.Gaddar said that those who question were becoming scarce in the BRS government and this would pose great threat to democracy.
