-YCP sarpanch abetted suicide of young man
-Harassment of woman employee turns tragic
-Ja’gun’ never came to stop human tragedy
AMARAVATI: TDP national general secretary Nara Lokesh on Tuesday demanded the arrest of the ruling YSRCP sarpanch for abetting suicide of a young man at Kothapalli village in Kasimkota mandal in Anakapalli district.
Lokesh said the police should also file a case against sarpanch Kannam Shyam and his accomplices for harassing a woman employee over telephone.
In a statement here, the TDP MLC said the YCP sarpanch and his gang harassed the woman employee. She took it to the notice of her friend Sudarsan Srinivasa Rao. When Srinivasa Rao questioned the phone harassment, the sarpanch and other YCP leaders targetted him.
Nara Lokesh released a selfie video released by Srinivasa Rao before taking the extreme step. The young man had named the sarpanch and how he along with his followers had harassed the woman and himself. He had said in the video that he was not able to bear this humiliation any more.
Lokesh expressed surprise why Jagan Mohan Reddy had not yet taken any action in this grave offence by his own party sarpanch. Prior to the elections, the CM had promised to come to the spot before the ‘police gun’ to rescue women in distress. Now in Kothapalli village in Kasimkota mandal, a young man was driven to commit suicide for coming to the rescue of a harassed woman.
Lokesh said it was an ironic twist that the ruling YSRCP leaders themselves had turned out to be the perpetrators of women harassment and atrocities. Just for giving one chance, they were using every chance to victimise the people. Jagan Reddy’s poll promises ended up being just ‘cinema dialogues’ and nothing else.
Nara Lokesh also demanded stringent action against the police who connived with the YCP sarpanch and his followers in this inhuman tragedy. The YCP goondas and miscreants have proliferated in every nook and corner of the State only to make the lives of women and girls miserable. The latest Anakapalli incident would hold a mirror to the heart-wrenching incidents taking place under the Jagan regime.
