Amaravathi, Dec 17: The TDP politburo member, Mr Varla Ramaiah, on Saturday said that the whatever has happened in Macherla is State-sponsored terrorism under the direct supervision of the Additional Director General of Police (Intelligence) and the Palnadu District Superintendent of Police (SP).
Mr Varla Ramaiah told media persons through Zoom that the Chief Minister, Mr Jagan Mohan Reddy, has complete knowledge of the whole incidents. How the Chief Minister can continue in power when he can not protect the law and order in the State, Mr Varla Ramaiah asked.
Mr Jagan instigated violence in Macherla as he knows pretty well that he is losing power, the TDP politburo member said, adding that the Palnadu SP uttered total lies to the media on Friday. Recalling that the police conducetd cordon and search in 2004 just before the murder of Mr Paritala Ravi, he said that Mr Ravi was attacked after making sure that he was not not carrying any arms.
“Did the police not find the petrol and soda bottles, and other weapons with the YSRCP activists when they conducted cordon and search and the operation was only with the TDP leaders,” Mr Varla Ramaiah asked. With the blessings of the Additional DG (Intelligence), the SP of Palnadu and the advisor, Mr Sajjala Ramakrishna Reddy, the YSRCP activists went berserk, he felt.
After Mr Julakanti Brahma Reddy has taken charge as the incharge of Macherla segment, a sort of fear developed among the YSRCP leaders, he said and stated that the ruling party activists tried to finish Mr Brahma Reddy. Are the police not aware that Mr Brahma Reddy is taking part in the party programme ‘Idemi Kharma’ and is it not their duty to control the YSRCP workers, Mr Ramaiah asked.
Had the police acted firmly, the damage would not have happened to the party office and to the vehicles owned by the TDP leaders in Macherla, Mr Varla Ramaiah felt. Why the police did not take into custody Mr Turraka Kishore of the YSRCP during the cordon and search operation and he was let off after Mr Brahma Reddy was sent out of Macherla, he pointed out.
Stating that the rein of terror in Macherla is the best example that the law and order failed miserably in Andhra Pradesh, Mr Varla Ramaiah demanded that all the YSRCP activists involved in Friday’s incidents in Macherla be taken into custody immediately. He also made it clear that the TDP Fact Finding Committee will soon visit Macherla to bring the facts to light.
