-Seminar on E- Auction of Commercial Earnings Contracts conducted
-Vijayawada Division awarded 7 Contracts through E-Auction in July, 2022 worth Rs.1.20 Crore Annual License Fee
Commercial Department of Vijayawada Division conducted seminar on recently introduced E-Auction of Commercial Earning Contracts today i.e., 2nd August, 2022 at Divisional Conference Hall, Vijayawada. Shri G Somasekhar Naidu, Divisional Commercial Manager and Shri Md. Ali Khan, Assistant Commercial Manager discussed the advantages of the newly introduced e-auction process with all the existing catering licensees of Vijayawada Division. Around 25 contractors and commercial staff participated in the seminar.
Shri G Somasekhar Naidu, DCM gave a detailed PowerPoint presentation to explain the advantages and benefits in the newly introduced E-auction policy. Shri Naidu said that the new system of E-Auction for awarding Commercial Earning Contracts is a remarkable process reform which brings in total transparency, reduces asset idling, eliminates process delay, and enhances competition among the bidders. DCM explained the salient features of the new system and its advantages to the existing Catering contractors and advised them to get themselves registered in the E-Auction portal so that they can become eligible for participating in the E-Auctions to be conducted for awarding Minor Catering units. DCM also said that this newly introduced E-auction is open to all the bidders without any geographical constraints.
Shri Md Ali Khan, ACM assured the contractors that full scale assistance will be provided at field level to help them to get registered in the E-auction portal, and stressed that the new E-Auction policy will bring in total transparency and masks the identity of the bidder thus eliminating the cartel among the bidders.
Soon after its launch pan India in June, 2022, Vijayawada Division brought parking contracts, coach advertising, parcel SLRs, cloak rooms waiting halls etc., into its fold. The Division awarded a total of 7 contracts through E-Auction in July, 2022 worth Rs.1.20 Crore of Annual License Fee. Following the guidelines of the Railway Board, efforts have been initiated to award the contracts of minor catering units also in the E-Auction system. In this direction, an orientation programme for the existing Catering licensees was conducted by the Commercial Department. Shri Md Ali Khan, ACM proposed vote of thanks and concluded the seminar.
