Congress senior leader and TPCC PAC Convener Mohammed Ali Shabbir has strongly condemned the BRS Government for the cancellation of the Group-1 exam by the High Court due to widespread irregularities in the examination process.
Shabbir Ali, in a media statement on Saturday, welcomed the High Court’s verdict and called for immediate action. He demanded the removal of all members of the Telangana State Public Service Commission (TSPSC) and the suspension of all officials responsible for the irregularities. He also asserted that Chief Minister K Chandrashekhar Rao should take moral responsibility and resign from his post, as this marks the second time the Group -1 exams have been cancelled.
The Congress leader expressed deep concern for the job seekers who now face immense disappointment, accusing the government of playing with the lives of the unemployed. He strongly supported the High Court’s decision and highlighted the dedication of parents who invested their efforts and resources in coaching their children for the Group-1 exams. He criticized the KCR Government for exploiting their labour and jeopardizing their children’s futures.
Shabbir Ali demanded immediate compensation of Rs 2 lakh for all exam applicants and stressed that the High Court’s findings reveal the government’s criminal negligence. He warned that unemployed youth would protest and prevent ministers and MLAs from entering their villages.
He also criticized the TSPSC for not learning from past mistakes, despite the previous cancellation due to a paper leak. He assured that a future Congress Government will ensure fair, transparent, and efficient exam conduct, promising to address the concerns of the youth.
Shabbir Ali acknowledged the High Court’s frustration with the TSPSC’s behaviour and called for a clean-up of the commission. He urged protesting students not to lose hope and demanded that the TSPSC rectify its shortcomings and conduct the Group -1 exams in a fair and routine manner.
“CM KCR should break his silence and not only tender an apology, but his resignation from the post,” he demanded.
