In a remarkable show of strength, Congress senior leader and TPCC PAC Convener Mohammed Ali Shabbir led a massive rally in Gajwel
The rally, which drew a convoy of 200 cars, was aimed at exposing the alleged lack of development in Gajwel and the purported land-grabbing activities by BRS leaders.
Addressing the gathered crowd, Shabbir Ali expressed his concern over the state of Gajwel’s development, accusing Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao of failing to uplift the region. He specifically highlighted the issue of farmers losing their lands to powerful interests associated with the BRS. “Today’s rally is intended to educate the people of Kamareddy about how KCR’s governance has allegedly negatively impacted their lives, leading to the loss of lands and resources,” he said.
During his speech, Shabbir Ali alleged that KCR and his family had exploited the poor by profiting from land acquisitions. He claimed that a bus stand in Gajwel was demolished under KCR’s leadership and had not been reconstructed for nine years, causing inconvenience to local residents.
The former MINISTER also pointed out a significant land distribution during the tenure of former Prime Minister Indira Gandhi, where around 1200 acres were allocated to impoverished individuals in Vargal, Avusuloni Pally, Chowdar Pally, and Mallareddy Pally. These lands, Shabbir Ali asserted, were forcibly taken from their rightful owners and sold for exorbitant prices by BRS leaders. They paid only Rs. 9 lakh per acre to the affected families and sold the same land for Rs. 1.56 crore per acre. “Farmers have been protesting for 95 days to reclaim their lands, but their pleas have fallen on deaf ears within the government,” he said.
Shabbir Ali criticized KCR’s leadership and alleged that the people of Gajwel consider KCR to be a “Shani” which brings misfortune. He urged the people of Kamareddy to unite against KCR’s rule and prevent themselves from getting affected by the “Shani”
The former minister also highlighted local infrastructure problems, citing potholed roads in Toopran village above the National Highway and a chaotic drainage system. He claimed that the neglect of such issues by the government had resulted in health concerns, including poisonous fevers among the residents.
He further criticized KCR’s family members. he alleged that KCR’s daughter Kavitha was playing with the lives of the poor as a “liquor queen”. Similarly, KCR’s son and minister KTR has been playing with the lives of unemployed youth. BRS leaders have earned crores of rupees by paper leaks and promoting drugs, he alleged.
Shabbir Ali also accused KCR of suppressing democracy in the state and turning Telangana into a dictatorship. He claimed that the opposition voices were being silenced through the use of police force.
In a show of unity, Shabbir Ali and other Congress leaders vowed to defeat KCR in both Gajwel and Kamareddy in the coming Assembly elections.
Former MLA & Siddipet DCC President T Narsa Reddy and Kamareddy DCC President Kailasa Srinivasa Rao and other leaders participated in the programme.
